Thanks. What was the mother story? Didn't you say she was a drunk author?

IIRC, she was a drunk author or poet. The scene as scripted is online in one of the original teleplays from the first season, and I remember it being pretty good - Marshall talks about it at length in the interview at the link. What I didn't remember is that (according to Marshall - they apparently shot the scene) she apparently was whoring herself out to rich men, and heads off with a john after tearing into James and telling him all women will use him and leave him.

Here's the script - it was actually Season 2, Episode 3.

Next up on the amateur interview circuit: Kimmy Robertson.

It's just a teaser for the interview, and it's in portrait mode, but look, I just post 'em, folks. She's still very Kimmy, though.

There have been a lot of encouraging noises coming out of both Showtime and the cast over the last few days, but nothing concrete. Now, Dana Ashbrook has said there's a "50/50 chance" Lynch will return. I think it's better than that but we'll see.

While several anonymous sources are optimistic, Dana Ashbrook was actually outspoken about the matter in front of a large crowd at last Sunday’s Antwerp Convention in Belgium. During a Q&A on stage, the actor told fans that negotiations for a David Lynch-directed series are back on, confirming Showtime’s repeated statements in e-mails and interviews. Things are looking way better than they did on Easter Sunday, he added, and there’s a "fifty-fifty chance that David Lynch will return to direct the 9 new episodes. On a fun side note: Dana, who first learned from Sheryl Lee that he was going to be cast again, also mentioned that David Lynch asked him if he’d been practicing "walking backwards" lately, as we see Bobby Briggs do in the pilot and Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me."

A resolution doesn't necessarily mean a good one, does it? Just saying.

I would be more concerned about it if not for all the optimistic noises coming out of most sources or informed parties for the last several days. I think it's going to happen.

No news just yet, but who knows about the rest of the day? In the meantime, Mädchen Amick weighed in on Twitter about what she thought would have become of Shelly Johnson 25 years later:

"Running the RR with #Norma. Has a daughter or son with #Bobby. And moonlights as a deputy Sheriff..."
