Members ChitHappens
Yeah, but why would ABC kill one show to save the other because it can't compete with a rival show? I doubt The Goldbergs would hold up any better than Blackish against Empire. I don't see ABC doing that.
Members MoTheGreat
I wanted to say something else but this what I'm going to say. They don't want to keep switching back and forth from Empire & Blackish or they would miss out on the plots. Members Juliajms
His reasons make a lot of sense, although I still wish it were on Netflix. I need the next episode now!
Members NothinButAttitude
*sighs* This show is like a dream. It's too perfect. Much like my gay hubby, Jussie [aka Jamal]. I cannot wait for Wednesday to get here already!
Members Juliajms
Yep. I think the writing team has managed to hit on universal themes that can appeal to almost anyone. It shouldn't be so easy to root for a woman who went to prison for drug dealing and a man who is a child abuser and a killer. Damned, if I'm not rooting for both of them in different ways though.
Members Vee
I like what I've seen of Black-ish and want to catch up on it sometime. But that being said, one "black" show on another network doesn't owe the other a timeslot. It reminds me a little of the aggressively condescending Salon(?) piece someone wrote about Leslie Jones on SNL a while back, which seemed to want to root for her yet expected her to represent the entire race in one night on live TV, and called her a failure for not doing so (she wasn't). Members NothinButAttitude
Lucious is alright. I just don't like how he does my bae. But that's what Jamal gets for being with a weakling with Dora. Had a character much like myself been on the show, I would've told Lucious to eat a d-ck. But then I might be swimming with the fishes alongside Bunkie.
Members Vee
It's not too late for them to launch the New York Undercover reboot next year alongside Empire! I mean, Malik Yoba isn't available and almost everyone else from the show was killed off but hey! (No, I'm not over it.)
Members MoTheGreat
Was 21 Jump Street apart of Fox because I wouldn't mind 21 Jump street reboot. Maybe this time the hot sister can get with the Johnny Depp type of character.
Members NothinButAttitude
You're not alone. My mom loved that show as well. I thought FOX was also rebooting In Living Color? Yeah, bring that back too! But only if Keenan is attached to it. Yep. 21 Jump Street was apart of early FOX.
Members Juliajms
It reminds me of people complaining when Body of Proof was put up against The Good Wife. I believe even the stars felt like one female driven show was being pitted against another. Yeah, or worse, living in a $700 studio apartment (kidding). None of these characters are here for that. They all want a piece of the big time, which is what makes this so fun. Edited January 26, 2015 by Juliajms
Members Vee
IIRC, the ILC reboot got scrapped by FOX at the last moment after a pilot presentation and some sort of drama with the Wayans brothers. I don't know the details - they had a cast and a lot of stuff done, and then boom, it wasn't going. Edited January 26, 2015 by Vee

Members DeeeDee
Moving Black-ish makes sense. It minimizes potential audience overlap with Empire & gives Black-ish an opportunity to anchor a potential comedy block on another night. Moving Black-ish & Fresh Off The Boat to Friday with Cristela & Last Man Standing as a reboot of TGIF would solve everything.
