I hate the media always trying to push her as the next Grace Kelly or Princess Diana, forcing us to see her as some kind of goddess to be worshipped.

I love her. She models the concept of loving yourself as you are and we don't see nearly enough of that from young women regardless of color.

If I've got to endure the media shoving Beyonce's overrated ass at me every time I turn around, I'm going to happily drink the Lupita kool aid.

A black woman is never going to get media worship on the level of a pretty, blonde white woman, so the comparison confuses me.

I just hope she takes what she can get out of the industry while she has these opportunities, and uses them to her advantage.

Ethnic looks are all the rage these days. What are you talking about?

Beyoncé has tons of accomplishments under her belt for nearly 15 years. I think she has earned it.

You right! Look, I think Lupita is a good actress, from the one role we've seen. And she's pretty. But world's most beautiful woman? Girl, bye! She got this just because it's popular to like her right now.

The fact that "it's popular to like her right now" is the whole point of the celebration. It's never been popular to like someone like her but now it's not only popular, it's profitable.
