Andrea Evans returned to One Life to Live in January, I think Roscoe Born as Mitch Laurence arrived in May so now you have the Mitch/Tina/Clint/Viki fully going.

OLTL: The Paul Rauch affect leading up to OLTL hitting #2 later that summer and Paul sending Erika Slezak a dozen roses thanking her while she was on vacation. Erika's Emmy winning scenes contributed to the rise to #2, but that's down the line.

July 5, 1985 Y&R Terry Lester departs but returns in the fall.

As the World Turns slipped before Douglas Marland became HW. At this time they were head-to-head with second half of supercouple Days, second half of All My Children, and first half of One Life to Live which had a comeback.

Guiding Light slipping too. From the GL thread, many have said the Gail Kobe/Pamela Long era falls apart in 1985.

Nice bump for OLTL. Overall numbers have been dipping, but GH and YR remain as the frontrunners

Fall 1985, Y&R explodes and everything culminates in the first half of 1986. We'll see Y&R move past All My Children for 2nd in 1986.

Supercouple-era Days now in the Top 5.

Awesome-amazing comeback for OLTL! Glad they hit #2 around this time.

GL slowly sinking to where it will be in the ratings for the remainder of it's run.

@MichaelGL From the annual ratings, GL drops each year from 1985 to 1991 but has a bit of an increase in 1992. I was surprised to see the drop in the annual ratings during the Calhoun years so it will be interesting to see that era on a weekly basis.

I'm interested in the 1988 and 1989 ratings that have never been seen expect for the bi monthly rankings on soap opera digest.

That's right, SOD was every two weeks in the 1980s, so there are gaps. 

Seeing those As the World Turns January-August 1985 ratings, Douglas Marland cannot get there fast enough. When the Fall 1985 ratings are posted, it will be interesting to see the ratings impact of his writing. 1986 and 1987 were the years that show really thrived even though it had strong competition from All My Children, supercouple-era Days, and One Life to Live.

We're definitely now hitting SFT's death spiral. DAYS' slight faltering after Bo & Hope's wedding having knock-on effects across the NBC lineup (minus SB who are already thriving). ATWT really struggling, which isn't helping Capitol or GL's numbers. Though the combination of Pam Long's stories starting to sour on the audience, plus SB's growth and PFS' return to GH helping to stabilize them can't help GL.
