Our saying holds true.... "As the temperature goes down - the ratings go up!".... I may be hating this cold weather in real life, but hopefully having 2+weeks in a row of bitter cold temps (and in turn, increased soap viewing) some lapsed viewers may stick around with all the soaps! Congrats to all four!

January 20th was MLK Day, which didn't hurt!

Only Y&R and B&B had higher numbers that day everyone else had higher numbers midweek when the big storm hit. It is nice to see Y&R with a 4.0 rating on Monday and B&B rating on 2.9 on Monday and Wednesday. Days with 2.2s....but the big return was the lowest of week. Looks like GH's numbers are neutralizing...only soap not to go up in HHs and the lowest gain in viewers from the soaps.

"Everyone else" is the other two shows. :) My only point is that MLK day definitely helps soaps regardless of the weather. The cold winter has certainly been a boon to all soaps, which proves that the audience is there. It's unfortunate that soaps are only rated on Live+Same Day, unlike prime time show, which publicizes Live +3 & Live+7. Although the soaps do use Live+7 for season ratings, but we rarely see those ratings.

My understanding is that they are no longer doing seasonal ratings based on Live+7 for daytime beginning with this season. Season to date ratings are therefore Live+SD only.

Toups, can you clarify this?
