Maybe I'm being too cynical, but I can't help wondering if this is a way to start turning JJ against Jack and into a Dannifer-supporter.

Why else bring this up when Jack is gone, this happened so long ago, and Kayla isn't around much? And didn't Jack and Kayla move past it eventually anyway?

Nah I think this will make JJ worse. Last week we had Abby blast him and say he's just like Jack, after highlighting Jack's bad qualities like abandoning the family. JJ will probably view Jack as a monster and think he's not much better than him. He'll probably lash out at Jennifer for falling for him and use that to reinforce the fact that she makes horrible decisions with men. I see this revelation leading JJ into a darker path. He may even get violent towards Theresa while under the influence and I can see her accusing him of rape to make Jennifer pay

The scene where Jennifer slaps Jack and calls him a rapist (she is reliving her own rape in her mind - no one knew about that at this point) is one of MR's better performances.

That was one of the main purposes of Lucky's story, so he could verbally abuse Laura and shame her for being raped. That role might fall to Jennifer, since she married a rapist, but if this is following that mess Guza wrote, Kayla would be a target too.

At least this story will probably give Kayla something to do.

Lucky didnt attack Laura bc she was raped. He did so bc she fell in love with and chose to be with a man that could do that to her. That's not what happened with Kayla at all and it would make no sense for JJ to attack her for being raped. Jennifer as a women who fell in love with a man inspire of him being a rapist is more in line with Laura, and considering he's ale wading lashing out at her, it would make sense for him to continue doing so with this as ammunition

Unfortunately I did feel like the message of the story said otherwise. When people mention the story that's what I tend to remember.

Since these are different circumstances, hopefully the writing will not focus as heavily on manpain and will remember the other people involved.

that's EXACTLY what it is.I can't say that I'm surprised, tho. It's just more bringing down other characters to prop-up Daniel/Jennifer business as usual. Sickening.

Just out of curiosity, was Matt Ashford playing the role of Jack at the time he raped Kayla, or was it one of the first 2 actors in '87?
