I would keep the cast mostly the same, just add to it. One person I'd cast is Victoria Rowell as either Jeffrey or Destiny's mom and give her a good story. I'd also bring back Jessica, preferably as Erin Torpey. Bring back Tom Degnan as Joey and Terri Conn as Aubrey. I'd be pretty happy with that.

A little off topic, but I'd like if they got Robin Christopher to come on as Skye for an umbrella storyline on both shows, putting them in the same universe again.

They recast Destiny with someone 100 pounds lighter, 5 inches taller, and several shades lighter, so I don't think this would be an issue.

Though the Destiny thing STILL bothers me.

Also - a little off topic, but I'd love of they got Robin Christopher to come on for an umbrella story overarching both shows, to kind of put them in the same universe again.

TP played her grandma. Perhaps Chris meant they should reveal her birth mother is alive in the form of VR?

If they are going to try and make Destiny's character happen, they should bring Greg back. They got rid of him just as those secrets came out and we never got to see much of the fallout in their relationship especially with all that's happened to her since. I'd bring him out of jail now. I would be fine with the original actor but I'd take a recast. Matthew St Patrick would work for me

i really wish they had said she got lapband or something although I guess that work with she being a struggling single mother

I thought Tom Degnan was the best Joey since Nathan Fillion. The problem there was terrible writing, but as Kelly Missal showed, with better writing he could work. I also thought he was very good on As the World Turns and had the same issue--bad writing. As for Terri Conn, I found her to be fun. I'm not saying she's the end all to nuOLTL being good, but I liked her well enough.

As for Destiny's mom, I found both parents to be poorly cast. Not in terms of their acting ability, but what could be done with them long term. I could see Rowell as nuDestiny's mother (she needs to be recast too) and then if they revisit the feud with Nora I could see the two working well off each other.

I liked Destiny's parents (grand parents). Both were great actors. I found Felicia to be more interesting of the two. She had great chemistry with SR and SE. The lived the first with her and Nora.

I wouldn't mind Destiny's biological mother coming to the show in the form of. Victoria Rowell. Greg's explanation for what happened to her never made any sense. Also wouldn't be opposed to seeing Greg back or any of her missing biological family (on her moms side) for an arc. I think it would help develop the character beyond being Jeffrey's sweet/innocent girlfriend

    • If NBC could have for seen the ratings of Lovers & Friends (the replacement for Somerset).. they would have for sure kept Somerset on the air longer. https://jason47.com/days/ratings1976.html  (ratings for Somerset in the final year) https://jason47.com/days/ratings1977.html (ratings for Lovers & Friends short run...getting as low as a 2 rating).

    • I liked them, too, and was really disappointed it never went anywhere. The whole art theft story was ridiculous, but they had a nice chemistry. Certainly nicer than Alan with Christine. With her, he looked like the funny uncle. The worst thing they did to Bolger, IMO, was having Phillip write that DREADFUL novel and dramatizing it while he wrote it. GAG, that has to be in the running for one of their worst storylines that didn't involve wacky things like clones or time travel. Soaps rarely do school storylines, or don't do them for very long. Not the case so much in the early days of soaps, but after GH took off in the late 70s other soaps took their lead and would catapult teens/young adults into adult stories right away. That's one reason Phillip and Mindy ended up with so many ex-spouses--they started getting married really young. They shipped Dina and Cameron off really fast after high school and stuck Alan Michael in a marriage storyline with Harley. Did he EVER go to college? I don't think so. It may also partly explain why Quint and Annabelle had to go, beyond TPTB wanting to do a cast sweep. Teaching is not a profession that plays well on a soap. Quint definitely had to quit being Indiana Jones, because that wore thin really fast, but they didn't do him favors by making him a professor. If they wanted to keep him, they should have done what they did with Amanda (who was in another dead-end soap job, concert pianist)--have him work at Spaulding as one of the major stockholders.
    • Judith McConnell (Augusta) and Denise Alexander (Lesley) were great screen partners on GH.  They got into some stellar arguments in character in the medicine room.
    • He also commented that Brad knows that fans are sick of the constant fake deaths on this show: Finn, Sheila, etc and that it's hard to take this seriously if it's another fake death

    • I just don't think Brad Bell has it in him to actually kill off Liam. He should have killed off Eric when he had the chance. I know John McCook is an original cast member, but Eric is even more useless than Liam. Eric should have died and then it would be revealed that he died without a valid will, so Donna, as his wife, inherits everything, including his shares in Forrester Creations.
    • I think we all will, isn't that how soaps work? lol
    • ^^ I'll believe it when it actually happens.
