Chris B was right...why are people piling up on (him?). At least show some remorse for spreading wrong info.

OMG Seriously I shared A Tweet that I thought and looked legit. If anything Chris B seemed to be on my ass because I shared something Chris B didnt feel should be shared here. I dont feel that deserved being treated like a 5 yo. I was trying to be helpful not hurtful

I don't mind the pile up! My thing is, Twitter is not a news site and John has a habit of posting things from unreliable sources on Twitter that get people worked up for no reason. We went through it multiple times with that Soap Whisperer account even after telling him it wasn't reliable. I'm over it, but I will call him out if it happens.

Overly defensive much? How about "Sorry for posting faulty information to try and fan hopes for OLTL. I'll do my best not to let it happen again"? That would help your reputation around these parts, even by a little bit.

Like I said before I shared it because I thought the posts were legit & fans would want to read them. I meant no harm. I want OLTL back as muc as any fan. I meant no malice

Until Freedom of Speech is deemed unconstitutional he can put whatever the hell he wants as long as it is relavent. Besides in the past when people here told John what other people post on the social media is unreliable nobody gave John a good reason. I did this time around. Maybe if people didn't say, "TOLN News isn't official just because it says it is and that anyone can use the word official" because with that logic could deem EVERYTHING Non-Official, he would take people here seriously. John has the right to post. And again, he is just trying to help and if he is offending you, or anyone else, just block him!!

A little rich after this gem from you...

Will you shut UP!!

Anybody can post what they want, but people should be free to respond to what is posted as they see fit.

What I am getting at is that people need to be understanding. I am simply backing up a friend because everyone seems to be always jumping on him. I am also human so I tend to be a little fiery at times and tell people to shut up. I can justify my actions just as easily as when I execute my actions.

BTW, just FYI, SON is NOT the US government, so freedom of speech does not apply. There is no freedom of speech here or anywhere else on privately owned entities. And of course the Internet is international..

Wizzerkat I always wants to make that freedom of speech point to Linda when she was crying out freedom of speech. I hope she's reading this.

I thought TOLNews was legit too until that retweeting bender in the wee hours of this morning. Ugh the last thing TOLN needs is an impersonator riling up fans when they already do that so well themselves.

Freedom of speech is one of the most hotly debated yet misunderstood issues. The US Constitution contains ONLY a negative command to Congress to NOT abridge the freedom of speech. That's it.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

The US Supreme Court has found over the centuries there are reasonable limits that can be placed by the government on freedom of speech if done to uphold the public welfare. Pornography is one prime example. US IP companies who ban and blackball users for posting porn on unrestricted sites were challenged in court under the 1st Amendment and won. But a US IP company could not ban a user for political speech.

As for an individuals free speech rights on privately owned US property? Pretty sure US Supreme Court ruled that is up to the states in Pruneyard. If you live in California, freedom of speech can extend to private property that is deemed regularly held open to the public.

As for SON? Posters ordering someone to STFU just because they disagree with them appears to violate their private TOS. But I've observed a few regulars here who routinely violate that TOS with impunity so maybe I read it wrong???
