OH, my goodness, Lorraine Toussaint! She was absolutely magnificent throughout the whole season. What a genius arc & story! Red vs Vee rocked so damn hard. I am in awe. Kudos to this wondrous ensemble of a cast and writing team. It was a joy to watch.

Uzo, Danielle, Samira, Vicky & Adrienne were all stars. I really loved seeing their characters shine this season especially Cindy; I was pleasantly surprised they highlighted her back story as a sketchy TSA agent who stole passengers items. Sometimes, I thought Poussey needed to tone it the hell down but she was very interesting throughout.

That was a breathtaking ending that I was NOT expecting! Loved Rosa's arc! What an oddly fitting ending for her. The short story w/her and the boy w/cancer was also very striking.

"Mendez is back, bitchezzzzz" I was DEAD when pornstache returned. I rewinded so many times. "SHOT!"

Oh how I love Lorna! Yael Stone has my heart. Another fantastic story, though I did not like the scene when Christopher visited. I thought that actor did a horrid, underwhelming job with such a gold mine of a scene. It was very disappointing IMO.

I thought Kaputo's journey, particularly in the last episode was very well done and a stand out. He went from being so excited to take over Fig's job to being unexpectedly consumed by the absolute cursedness of it. I can't wait to see how it all affects him next season

Larry and Polly were disgusting. WTF?? I thought that whole story w/them fell flat. I'm hoping they will be phased out next season. They're boring, trifling nobodies. Get out please

Not looking forward to seeing Alex back next season rolleyes.gif Guessing her & Piper will be all happy and f-cking around until Alex finds out she's the reason she's back in there rolleyes.gifrolleyes.gif I'LL PASS!!!

Loved Season 2! Loved it! Better than Season 1, and I love that one as well.

Everything worked - the stories, the characters, the acting. (Some scenes were a bit out of reality as far as prison rules go, but we'll overlook that one.)

Big props to Lorraine Toussaint. And much praise to the rest of the cast (I figure it would take too much time for me to name all of them).

Out with Polly/Larry!

I actually finished the season last week but havent posted my thoughts . You (AMDatGH) bumping this up has be inspired. Bare with me as I will be jumping all over the place and it'll be easier for me to touch on characters than episodes. First lets start with....

Red! I dont think I mentioend it from season 1, but I couldnt stand her ass and how she acted like she was Queen B. Maybe she was, but her attitude was so stank. Loved seeing her get knocked down a few pegs this season with everyone turning their backs on her. Ugh to her wanting to be involved in the garden club and of course it was only so she could boss around the old bitties! More on that later. She did finally come around and apologize to everyone, which I liked. One ore thing, her hair was looking tore up from the floor up! Sophia, Jesus, fix it!

I LOVE how Gloria rose to power. Gloria >>>>Red

Slutbucket. I still dont like her ass. Are we really supposed to buy into her and John's love? Poor him for being stupid enough to fall for this

Lorna. Whoa, did not think she was a friggin psycho! That ish was scary. I wondered about her story regarding Christopher. I thought he dumped her a long time ago and she was just too embarassed to say anything. Did not see her being a stalker who only went on one date with the guy and became obsessed! Why the hell isnt she in a nuthouse instead? I think its so stupid that she is even a driver and has access to drive off if she wanted to, which she did. That sh-t was crazy with her showing up in the hose
I had no idea the actress playing Sophia was a real transexual! I thought she looked manly but didnt think she was originally one. I also was shocked to learn her real life twin brother played her pre-op self on the show as I thought that was her.

I have to say her flashback episode did wonders for her character. Ive gone from hating her to being ambivalent
tumblr_n6vf6wMj4B1slhwslo4_250.gif
No matter what Ive said about, anyone, this bitch is the worse! I hate Brooke NoNo! She is so damn annoying and the worst thing about season 2. I hated how much screentime she got. Sell you for a blanket? Id sell you for a stick of gum! Girl, BYE!

LMAO, that was a good moment. Its crazy that he was brought back though. Suspension? He was caught screwing an inmate! How ridiculous that he would be placed back in the same prison
I dont hate Larry and Polly like you guys do but I do think its time to move on from them. The show really doesnt need to focus on outside the prison anymore. I have to say I was on their side in terms of hooking up. Her husband bailed on her and Piper cheated on Larry. He was single so she has no right to be angry at him for moving on, considering she's in jail and acted like the world was supposed to stop for her. Sucks it was with her best friend but I felt no sympathy for her

Their little bet was gross. I didnt find that stuff funny at all
tumblr_na5r54ZTwT1smcqr3o5_250.gif
This show can be so predictable. When we first saw her husband, I pegged him as being gay. The only surprise here is that she didnt know. I was under the assumption that she knew but that they had an arrangement bc he could boost her career.
tumblr_n7mpm7OquB1rcctsao1_500.jpg
Me too! I hope she comes back bc I hate the jerkoff for firing her. She rocked
black-cindy-640x361.jpg
I like Cindy but she is so damn selfish. I know a girl, just like her. Back to the show being predictable, I figured that little girl was her daughter, not her sister bc the age difference seemed so large.
tumblr_nak9qnn8S31rvctsmo1_500.gif
Whatever. Im so over Piper when it comes to Alex. Alex is a piece of sh-t. I didnt care about her story about being in danger. Piper turning her in could have been great if she did it for revenge, but it looks like she did it to protect Alex. Not looking forward to seeing another round of them
tumblr_n7m0snREq01qat4jdo3_250.gif
And finally Vee. She first came across as one scary bitch but I love how Poussey put her in her place, basically saying she's wack and is only relevant in this prison bc the big dogs on the outside were unimpressed with her. I cant beleive she f--ked her foster son and then had him killed. Who does that? Her getting hit needed to happen and how fitting that it was Rosa who ran her down for being "rude". LMAO. I wonder if she is dead though. It would be fitting if she lived but was a quadriplegic. Either way I dont see where they can go with her character so she needs to be gone.

Good for him! IMO, Christopher was more than justified. Its not like he could choke her out there so he did the next best thing which was to cut her down, make her feel like a worthless piece of trash that has no future with him. She simply doesnt get it and carrying on this fantasy that she is going to just walk right back into his life, be happy and in love while trying to get rid of his wife is crazy. He needed to make her hear that there was no hope

thanks. I knew that but got the names mixxed up. I was thinking good for her! when she stole the van and left. She was going to die anyway, so what did she have to lose?

I think Larry had more patience than most men. Most men would have dumped Piper and/or cheated on her soon after she left for jail

    • I know this board has very strong opinions about Scheffer's reign which run the gamut from brilliant to the nadir of the series.  I'm one of the fans. 2001 - 2005 are, imo, the second best years for the series. The first being Marland.  As The World Turns won Daytime Emmy Awards for Best Drama Series in '87 and '91. However, it wasn't until Scheffer came along that it won again...in '01 and '03. Plus it won for Best Writing Team in '01, '02, '04, and '05, an award it had never managed to win before and didn't again. When Scheffer left and Passanante was the main head writer (along with various other co-head writers) the show began to seriously tank. However, it wasn't just the writing. The budget was gone. The sets were made to be smaller or destroyed. There was all that weird hand held camera directing for a while. Scenes that were obviously shot in the hallway where the series was filmed. I think '06 - '10 is a roller coaster. There are some storylines I really enjoyed and some that were eye-rolling. Looking in the rearview mirror though, I can see that the actors, writers, directors, and crew were working their best with what money they had.
    • They are idiots! It seems crazy that Leslie is inserting herself so much into this investigation but everybody is falling into her traps. I find it to be an interesting back and forth and I'm still not completely sure who will win. I have a theory but I'm going to wait for more to develop before I say more. I feel like Haley has been more on the sidelines so I'm enjoying this new desperate streak she appears to be developing. I'm curious how it'll manifest overtime. I also agree with Dani that I am not convinced she's pregnant. I think she's trying to get pregnant but really just see's herself fading into the background and wants attention and validation from Dani and her family.
    • Thanks for sharing; the set, wow. Ten times better than the "penthouse" she lives in now (is that a surprise, though?).
    • I'd be happy to!

I just read the intro and first chapter and I'm already hooked. I know she had a co-author, but I can tell Kim is a firecracker and I'd love to have wine with her and talk sh!t haha. It makes reading the book pretty easy and entertaining. Intro - I had no idea she got a DUI! She shared 3 bottles of wine with a friend at dinner one night in LA, got in her car, was pulled over and thrown in jail overnight.  She admitted it wasn't her first time drinking and driving, but learned a valuable lesson that night. Out of the gate, she's not holding back or hiding anything. Chapter 1 - the announcement that GL was being cancelled. She was driving to Peapack and got a call from Bradley Cole who told her the news. First, that's BS that as one of the faces of GL, you hear the big news from a fellow co-star on your way to work. Granted, the "suits" were traveling to Peapack that day to tell the cast and crew, but still, seems icky. Ironically the news came on April Fools Day. Apparently that was the last day the network could decide whether to cancel or renew, but to Kim's point, couldn't they just pick the day before to avoid the callousness of the 'holiday'. Obviously a sad day in GL history. I thought it was funny, she said the one thing she thought of is "what would Susan Lucci do" in this situation, post-cancellation. And of course she said she'd "find something to hawk on the Home Shopping Network"  You all would know better than me, but part of the title of her book is "seven husbands" and in her intro, she uses Reva's full name: Reva Shayne-Lewis-Lewis-Spaulding-Lewis-Winslow-Cooper-Lewis-Lewis-O'Neill.  However, in the first chapter, she said Bradley Cole was "her 8th (or was it 9th?) husband". Well, Kim, that already contradicts the title of your book and your character's name you touted.
    • He also was following Holly May 22, 2025 per update (link to post) from @JAS0N47
    • I was incredibly moved by these scenes, especially Peter's performance. It felt so tender and real, especially when you remember Bo just got out of a years-long coma and wasn't going to be able to put up a front. You're reminded of how long these legends have populated the show when you have a 70 year old man grieving men who were almost 90 or 100, but Bo's response to Victor's death was a poignant reminder of how fresh these wounds are no matter your age. Normally these types of moments don't even make it in soap episodes in recent decades as they are seen as too boring. The more somber moments being balanced by Bo meeting his grandchildren was also lovely.  And the scene where Bo forgave Shawn may be the only time I've been in lock with Brandon Beemer's take on the part.  There's a certain element of suffocation with soaps, as shown here, when you remember so many of the kids are named after long dead relatives, or when they grew up, were paired with the kids of other longtime characters. That aspect always makes me yearn for new blood (new blood that doesn't suck, anyway), but there are other moments, like those with Bo, which make me appreciate all the history the show has.
    • A funny scene, Roger and Sonni go out to eat, at that place that had a colonial theme (I love when soaps have very specific places to eat..I hated the diners on GL, ATWT and AW) and this is just after Rog came back and Sonni hit the headlines and the waitress scremes.."Oh, Roger Thorpe, and YOUR...please dont' hurt me..." and they are all like, "Hey, were just hungry!" (most soaps now have someone go on a murder spree and the rest of the cast and extras look like they havent heard about it."
