I will agree with most of this post except him being too old. He's the perfect age to play Franco. I don't get why they are going the brain tumor route when they already went through great lengths to absolve him of his sins. Seems pointless that those video tapes were used as a plot point now when Franco's crimes could have remained but this tumor would explain away his actions

Yes! Why the tumor if they erased his heinous actions? Sounds suspect to me!

I think the idea is probably so that people will say, "Ron is trying SO hard! He really wants us to love Franco!" And then, because many people automatically love Howarth's tics and ham, they will feel bad if they don't fall into line.

Its overkill. Im almost expecting them to reveal that its the brain chip that Heather implanted in his head which caused the tumor. This is of course before its revealed that his mother used to molest him
