Sigh. Yep.

At least Maura West seems to have finally been given a day or two off. Sheesh.

The balance is just so awful. You get overloaded on people and then don't see them for weeks. It was the same way with his OLTL.

You see certain GH characters a few days and then they disappear for a few weeks. The Livers and MW are off for a day or 2 and then on for 3 consecutive weeks. FrankenTodd is only off screen because Roger gets an extended vacation and outs for whatever projects he wants (Californication). Shameful to shackle Carly to this!

So little of this show makes sense to me. Why is Connie now responsible for circulation of the paper--and where is the staff of this paper anyway, and wasn't the paper Todd's Sun--was that ever explained when he left? not that I care... ANd it's nice to see that Connie seems more concerned about her magazine suddenly than she ever has about sorting out her rape. You have a show about a dying baby and yet there is ZERO emotional investment or emotional stakes in ANYTHING going on for me.

Oh, the whole paper thing exists in its super-special new reality.

When Todd came to town, he bought out the parent company that owned Crimson as well as the Port Charles Press. He made the Press over into the Port Charles branch of the Sun and took a firmer hand over Kate/Connie. Putting aside the fact that they are now pretending the OLTLers did not exist on GH, we can assume Todd dropped his interest in the larger conglomerate and sold it off when he left town. We saw workers taking down the "Manning Enterprises" sign in the Crimson offices.

I don't remember any point at which Kate or Connie was in control of either the Press or the Sun, but it may have happened briefly when Todd was incarcerated. Obviously they're now trying to pretend Connie is a hard journalist and should also be in charge of the local paper, which is just ridiculous and awkward IMO. But apparently we're to assume William deVry's character, Wells, took over the conglomerate from Todd.

Vee, Connie appointed herself the editor of the paper while Todd was incarcerated. She did the story on Tracy funneling mob money thru ELQ. This was the time where she and Tracy were friends for a second.

When is this bitch gonna die, already?!

It's beyond ridiculous! Not sure why TIIC [on any soap] believe exit stories are not important. I want Connie gone like yesterday, but a bullshit story of her big journalist story going awry? She was a major character who ate the show whole for a good 14 months and the exit is for the damn birds? Absolutely ridiculous. A reporter overnight when she's really been off screen quite a bit. Same with Johnny. The man kills 3 people, slithers back into Carly's bed as means of an alibi, gets an attack of conscience, spills all and is escorted off so that Todd can get the remainder of his story.

Remember when exits and reveals kept us glued?

I suspect we would have had a few withdrawals next year if Israel had won. I don't think many people would relish going to Jerusalem as things stand now. Not to mention it would have been a prime target for terrorist attacks.
    • And they've given us plenty. Sets, outdoor scenes, music licensing, etc. And that was the point of me using DAYS... so. It's obvious the casino set is not intended for long-term use, hence why it's likely it wasn't as evolved as the other community sets, etc.

    • I just had thought of how to save the Perkins family. (Inspired by Rituals) -- What if Marisa Perkins was Augusta Lockridge's sister? Fictionally, they could've both been local girls, one married rich and one married poor. Originally, I was going to suggest that Marisa be Sophia's sister, but then I realized Joe and Kelly would've been first cousins.  Of course, it would've truly inspired Sophia was if Rosa Andrade sister, with Rosa and Santana moving in to help CC raise the kids once Sophia disappeared.  While this could've avoided both gross CC and Santana affairs, the times were not right for a story about intersectional inequity.
    • https://www.instagram.com/p/DJxW5DLJLId/ Another World is my forever favorite soap opera. But it's finale is almost universally hated by its fans. What this is, is an edit where I've deleted everything I didn't like!!!
    • The Perkins family had potential to be a nice alternative to the more dysfunctional Capwells and wackier Lockridges... but I think a few factors did in the family. 1) Recasting of Joe Perkins 2) Bad casting of the Perkins Patriarch, and the one note writing for that character. 3) Lack of antagonistic interaction between the Capwells/Lockridges and Perkins.  (There was no awkwardness between Jade/Ted.. or CC disapproving of his son being friends with that Perkins girl, etc). 4) Wasting of Jade thus wasting the potential of the actress (which was realized on Days of Our Lives).  She had more potential than Laken oddly enough. The only member of the Perkins family that had appeal and a somewhat thought out story arc was Amy.
    • @GymnastGuyThanks for posting the three new Capitol 1985 episodes today. The two labeled March 12, and 13 are misidentified. The March 12 labeled one actually aired November 12 1985 which I figured out because Kenny Rogers' movie Wild Horses aired November 12th and it was announced over the "March 12" Cap credits. In addition, Craig Carlson is listed in the April credits but not the March. Craig left Capitol sometime after July 1985 before he rejoined OLTL in the credits by October 15, 1985; he was replaced on Cap by Radcliffe and Hamner. In these posted episodes Radcliffe/Hamner names appear in the March 85 episodes but not in the April.
