I think Chandler's contract could be extended until April (aka an August/Sep 2014 airdate for us) if he doesn't start UCLA until September. I also think it would behoove Days to write Will and Sonny (and baby Ariana, who knows) out -- they move to New York for work or something. Certainly do not recast right away, if at all.

Hopefully by the time Chandler is ready to make an exit, the current PTB will still be in charge and have a spate of new SLs ready to pick up steam. The beauty of Days is that it is a true ensemble right now. Even the most popular characters are not on every day, all the time, and that is 100% OK with me. Like, I love Arianne Zucker but I don't need to see her 24/7. Same with Chandler. Same with (dare I say it) Eileen Davidson whom I worship and adore! Will leaving might actually push Chad into the forefront (if CD doesn't leave to pursue other projects too) and give his underused character live up to some of his obvious potential.

BTW, congrats to Massey and Days for their Emmy wins.

Finally, Brady and Nicole. I was never 100% convinced by EM and AZ's romantic chemistry the first time around (more like they are very good friends) but that was a hot, thrust-heavy love scene! This tells me that the Rafe-Kate thrusting we saw a few months' back was not a one-off; Tomlin must be sending notes down asking directors to amp up the hotness. Even with a tiny budget, Days puts in the effort to choreograph some great love scenes compared with the other three soaps.

Chandler never said he was leaving. He talked about how he wants to get a degree, sure, but that doesnt mean he is out. I think he is likely to exit, but things can be worked out. Thats the point of negotiation when your contract is up, esp when you are a fan favorite, in a front burner story line, and just won two emmys. If they dont work something out the role will likely just be recasted, but the already long list of potential recasts that supposedly have some weight to them is amusing, because he wouldnt exit to december so even if they did a right away recast, the new actor likely wont start until january (and air until may...)

I think they'll work with Chandler to help him stay. The show doesn't want to lose the buzz it's gotten from the Wilson story (and let's face it, another actor may not click well with Freddie Smith)...

Broderick has said she doesn't want to headwrite a show, and she also has a certain tone which I don't think we're seeing at the moment, although I'm sure she's a big part of their success. But the way it's worded mostly smells like parsing in a way that will make sure certain soap stenos will not lose face, and they can take it back whenever they wish. If they just said, "DAYS has improved lately. I hope it lasts." I would be more impressed.

I agree with this. Don't get me wrong, I think Broderick (who I obviously love) is a big part as to why the show finally seems to be working now, but Broderick has made that clear about why she's not currently wanting t be a HW. I think it's kinda callous for the "soap press" to say things like that as if they were facts (and Nellie was always as bad as any crazy non press fan with this--he HATRED AMC in its last five+ years, but while I believe he did praise Broderick there too, otherwise whenever there was a story he did like he would be the first to say stuff like "Agnes Nixon wrote so and so" as fact--when we now know quite clearly that she was at her least involved for much of that time, even being locked out of the writer's room.)

From the end of yesterday's show its looking like Kristen is going to drug and either rape Eric or make him think they did it. Yes? It's revenge against marlena and will hurt Brady. I a rally went spoiler free aside from casting its just the vibe I picked up.

Loving Samis story playing so many dynamics. Sami with Abe, roman, mar, hope, ej. Ej with chad Abby Kristen mar. Really digging it and I think it's smart to have her have shot a cop and the weapon be missing because it raises the stakes here even tho we know she'll get off (not only verse she's right, but just cuz she's Sami and we know AS isn't leaving and I doubt wed get another prison storyline lol)

CM doesn't click well with FS, so I can't see a recasted Will hurting the pairing much from a clicking standpoint.

It was such a nondescript purse that I found it hard to believe that Eric would even question its presence, as there are female members of the household.

I'm intrigued by this Kristen/Eric story. It seems she wants to be near his room to drug/sleep with him (although I'm not sure about the two vials...Viagra?). If she succeeds in seducing/raping/bedding him, it could have really interesting long-term implications. Hopefully this will help move Eric's story along. His story has gone nowhere since his return. I was excited for his return because I really liked Eric back in the day (as JA) and was excited to have an important character back on screen, but he has done pretty much nothing interesting storyline wise since his return. It just seemed too blah for him to finally realize his feelings for Nicole and leave the priesthood, but being relived of his priesthood for going against his vow of absinence would be a much more interesting way for Eric's story to play out. Although when the truth comes out he was drugged we may be back at square one.

I just can't get over how much I am loving having Kristen onscreen. I foolishly was in the minority about not being super excited about her return, just because I wasn't sure how she would fit into Days today, but she just brings it everyday and I have been very happy having her back. I really hope to see her on the Emmy stage next year.

I like how the show went right from the climaxes of the last storylines (Brady/Kristen, Gabi's baby/Jensen) right into this next big story. I was shocked by Sami shooting Bernardi--never would have thought Stefano's "cut it off" plan would lead to such a big event.

I actually really appreciate them bringing Eric on and just working him into the canvas and back onto the show before giving him a leading storyline. I think that was really smart on their part.

Still a day behind but I NEED to have Kristen gloat to Sami about what she's going through. Smug bitch deserves it
