Prospect Park Sues ABC Over ‘One Life To Live’ & ‘All My Children’ Licensing Agreement

ABC can sign any individual they want as long as that individual agrees. They didn't have to inform anyone or ask permission. Once PP asked GH to cease and desist, they did as evidenced by not one person being able to speak the name of any of the characters.

The only possible open and shut part about this is the URL mess and the ads.

Does anyone else think this may be a genius publicity stunt by PP? ABC is claiming they haven't been served, the complaint looks like it was written by some intense fan ("soapocalypse" "epic" and exclamation points are not things you usually see in legal documents), the damages request is excessive and will be laughed out of court. A week away from the premiere, they are getting all kinds of coverage. If so, I say good strategy Prospect and godspeed. If this is real, I wish they would have just left GH alone after securing the domain names (the only reasonable request in the entire absurd complaint) and focused on the amazing OLTL canon of characters available to them- some much history they could mine.

Not that I've been following the chronicles of PP, but the fact that they've cited Turdly as an example of their gripe against ABC is reason enough for me to be on their side. If they win this lawsuit, well, this will be a perfect case of the chickens coming home to roost for Cartini and it'll serve them right.

Interesting how abc quickly gave them the urls honestly that means they really are scared. IMO the not advertising is not right. They want to make royalities I don't have a lick of sympathy for abc two years they could have cared less about us for their quest for greed.
