The synopsis sounds great. And for the most part, I like some of the actors cast on the show (Tika, Peter, and Eva). I'm all for a new soap/drama series that could potentially open doors for Oprah to consider greenlighting even more, but I pray that Tyler does not get "too soapy" to the point that it comes off amateurish, which he is known for doing a lot. *sighs* I see potential in this show. I just hope that Tyler has some strong(er) writers with backgrounds in soaps/dramas to keep his a** on track.

Hmm. . . I wonder if he needs a writer's assistant? tongue.png I only stay two hours from ATL and I'll be glad to assist him, but keep his behind on track because again, Tyler can get too melodramatic for my taste.

What part of GA you live in?

1. I'm going to need Tyler to do something with that lighting. Its too effin' harsh for drama. If this show is going to mock the likes of Y&R or any other soap then he needs to hire the proper lighting director.

2. From the clip, I can tell that they're going to be doing Tyler Perry's form of acting instead of normal acting. Lord help us all. . .

So umm, this is the show that was meant to be similar to Downton Abbey and Upstairs Downstairs? :P

Man... Anyone know how many episodes it's scripted for? I agree that in an awful way it could maybe be campy fun like some of those awful telenovela experiments they tried (was it on MeTV?) but I just know there's gonna be a whole lot of preaching and moralizing thrown in that we didn't see in those clips. After Temptation, I wouldn't be shocked if he throws in another "AIDS punishes lustful women" side story. With all these projects how much control does Perry even have on story--or does he just hire people who can mimic his "voice?"

I love the two episode descriptions--which show that Candace (Tika's character?) is an evil, deceitful mistress who disobeys the married man cheating with her--oh and some person comes back from rehab but, of course, it didn't stick.

Title Original air date[7] U.S. viewers
(million) 1 "The Big Surprise"[8] May 28, 2013 (2013-05-28) TBA The Cryer family has prepared a surprise 50th birthday celebration for Jim but as he arrives, he is disheveled when he sees that his mistress, Candace, has become friendly with his daughter Amanda and is partaking in the festivities. Upon Wyatt's homecoming from rehab, the family is disheartened to see that he hasn't changed at all. 2 "Playing In The Deep End"[8] May 28, 2013 (2013-05-28) TBA Jim has repeatedly requested that Candace leaves the family's home, but she continues to disobey him by staying with Amanda. Hanna, the housekeeper, is startled when she stumbles upon Candace shuffling through Katheryn’s bedroom. Jim has a candid conversation with his best friend David about Candace's deceiving ways.

You already know Tika's character is going to get caught up and end up being slut-shamed (and dead, or pregnant, or broke, or with AIDS). So predictable
