Y&R Monday's Show (speculating)

After seeing the promo for Monday's show and seeing Jessica Collins tweet yesterday that she was filming scenes with MM, I guess Adam survives the gunshot and impending (?) explosion...

That is just too darned bad...!

The only upside will be if it ends Chelsea's planned who's the daddy nonsense and gets Dylan back to Avery.

An injury will do nothing to change my opinion about Adam. So he possibly saves Victor? Who cares about Victor anymore either? He needs redemption as much as Adam does.

I am wondering if TPTB didn't do the Newman Ranch decor justice because this explosion was coming...

Adam's done with redemption. He's as good as he's going to get. He was "redeemed" last year while he was blind and came to a conclusion that he could be a better person and wanted to be a better person. That's done. People can choose to see he's changed, or not - he still goes on. Adam can do good, he can do bad. He can do bad for what he thinks are good reasons. He can do whatever he wants. That's fine by me.

Nah. Not by a long shot does being blind (for 2 seconds) redeem anyone. He would have fessed up for all that he had done - if not to the authorities, then to someone he trusted and he would have also walked the walk. He did neither. We saw none of that. They said he would be held accountable for helping Patty escape from the mental institution when Vance was done with a high profile case. That was last spring. I am not the only person who remembers everything Adam did and set into motion since Chris Engen's Adam arrived. Same thing with Victor. Victor brought a mentally unstable woman to town to do his dirty work and Adam took it further.

I thought it was noticeably awkward how they had Adam remaining at the ranch after Billy escorted him to the door.

Adam isn't redeemed until he confesses what he did to Ashley years ago and what he did to that poor child of hers. He needs to confess to Victor and apologize profusely and then accept the multiple b**ch slaps that Ashley and Victor will hurl at him.

Then he can go to jail or end up on an island somewhere for a year of solitude and painful punishment.

Then and ONLY then will I ever care about Victor Junior again.

Oh, I remember what Adam did. I remember what all the characters on the show have done. I'm not interested in Adam lying prostrate and the decent townsfolk throwing stones at him until he repents and turns away from sin. A lot of people have done terrible things on this show. Some pay for their sins, some never do - but nothing they do to pay makes *me* forget. I'm not interested in making anyone on the show a town pariah, indefinitely. Adam had his time as town (and family) pariah, if that time is up - great. All the better! People shunning and hating Adam is boring. I want a compelling Y&R - not a same ole same ole Y&R. If this is the beginning of a change - then I can't wait to see it happen.

Those things aren't redemption. True redemption would put an end to all of that. Adam could still be a rascal without still having blood on his hands.

I'm with Jeanne Cooper - People want to be entertained by soaps. Adam and Victor's sins being swept under the carpet is not entertaining. The fact that viewers were promised Adam helping Patty escape would be addressed by the DA makes it worse.

Sharon was redeemed for what MAB did to her. MAB's wrongdoings are not sacrosanct.

Next up? Adam and Victor.

The blood on Adam's hands is there permanently. It's not coming off, no matter what. Same with Victor. They are who they are. Can anything that either of them has done be undone? I don't think so. So, how's the blood going to be washed off and their hands blood free? Adam truly realizing he did wrong, feeling remorse and deciding to be a better person (something that happened last year) is enough redemption for me. I'm not watching Y&R waiting for Adam to prove he's good and he's changed, he's remorseful and he's worthy. He did that last year. A lot of viewers think that's not nearly enough. That must make it tough for them to watch this show. But I'm fine with the show I'm watching, at least where Adam is concerned.

Victor's another story. His kids know who he is, what he's like, what he's done, what he's capable of. They accept him anyway. They never walk away from him for long. Victor's bad doings aren't swept under the rug so much as they aren't even remotely surprising to the people who are most important to him in life. If Victor can realize he's done wrong, feel remorse and decide to be a better person, then that's something I wouldn't mind seeing. But I'm not going to hold my breath. smile.png

Adam's not redeemed until he's dead! I loathe "writers" who don"t write long term ,makes an error and moves heaven and hell to try and remedy the error at the expense of the show and all its characters! Adam's a sociopath. They took him beyond the point of return!

I'm indifferent about Adam's redemption or whatever. Good shows have characters who set things in motion, make morally questionable decisions, etc. If everybody played nice, how boring is that? Anyway, Adam's sins don't come close to all the cr*p Victor has pulled over the years. Even Aunt Jack has pulled off a few scummy things.

All soaps have villains, but all villains are not criminally insane. Adam is criminally insane and should not have lasted more than 6 months! I don't care how many different regimes try to dress that fool like a contributing member of society. He will always be the vile creature who burned a fetus and stuck needles in his eyes! The gas lighting and child kidnapping from a woman's snatch doesn't even bother me because that happens on all soaps at one point or another, but again, some of his other crimes were insane!

I remember long ago on Ryan's Hope there was a lunatic who fell in love with Faith #1 (she was quite homely). I believe his name was Kirk (something with a K). He did horrific chit in the name of "love". He kidnapped Faith, caused her to break her leg when she tried to escape the dark nasty room in which he kept her, his obsession caused the death of her father. And lastly, faith went blind because of this loon. She was traumatized and bedridden for a while. The actor was really good, but when his time was up, he was written out and the other characters dealt with the aftermath. Kirk was a nut, and there is no way in hell Faith should ever contemplate being with this man EVER! It was a really good story!

FF to today where the audience has too much of a say in certain areas of a show. Adam is "hot" and he and Sharon have chemistry, so instead of this clown being written out, every other character had to be "adjusted" to "redeem" him. We even had whore Sharon, MAB's biggest transgression in regards to Adam, calling Ashley a nut in defense of the nut who's boning her. There are plenty of characters who can set things in motion for long term stories, and then there are psychos who are supposed to serve a short term purpose - this would be Adam!
