You know, it's been really nice hearing from both Ginger Smith and also Jennifer Pepperman, but I want to hear from the headwriters! It's like they're hidden in a cave. I want to hear what their vision is. Especially prior to the new teams stuff airing.

I would like to hear from the new HWs too. I was hoping, as much as it would be pretty much PR fluff, we would on MORE, but obviously that won't happen for a few weeks until they start taping MORE in CT again.

In the "this week's ratings" thread, someone (I'm sorry, I forget who) implied that it was a new approach to hear more from the EPs than the HWs. But actually, this strikes me more as the old approach. Back in the 60s and 70s when you would read about the vision for a show--going into the 80s at least--unless it was from Bill, Irna or Agnes and other creators, the vision for the show was usually upheld by the EPs and not the headwriters. That was sorta lost I think when the EP, or at least the creative role of the EP was often overtaken by the network execs working with the HWs. So in a way, this seems like a throwback to me--and I appreciate that both Ginger and Jennifer seem to have a clear take on the creative side of their shows as well as the technical--that all said, I would like to read interviews with the headwriters (we did get a bit from SBH and Racina at One Life, but nothing from the AMC startup team.)

I am starting to think they have the HWs locked in a panic room, yes.

There were stories about Marlene McPherson raising a fuss over being dumped, which I can't say I blame her for - a lot of this PP stuff has been fast and loose and a little abrupt. But I would like to hear more from the new writers.

I wish the calls to the TOLN show were toll free. The idea of being on hold and not getting through would annoy me especially since my phone isn't free.

The AMC podcast with Ginger Smith only had maybe 2 people who asked questions that weren't annoying.

I just hope we don't get stupid questions that we've read about on twitter or people asking for spoilers that the actors can't give.

(718) 664-9351 is the number for the podcast, and that's a NYC extension. If you don't have unlimited calling or are local you have to pay.

My safe question would be something like what is the funniest thing that has happened on set (that wasn't in a blooper reel)...

Yeah the screening of the questions should have been done better--but I get that Fairman doesn't have a team (though I can only imagine what they'd look like and have to wear, if he did... :P ) A couple of the callers who asked where [insert character name here] was actually sounded intelligent and understood the issues, but the majority really didn't (I love that one of the persons who fit this the most was obviously a poster from here.) Ginger, to her extreme credit, handled it all with a lot of patience and grace, especially given that apparently she been working over 12 hours that day and still had a few hours left.
