I think you are right with your second point.

As to the first, while I suspct PP were somewhat in the wrong, with cases like these even if nobody knows who is in the wrong legally they have to halt production till it's dealt with, so it doesn't really say one thing one way or the other.

That also means that the editors and writers can't work, right? So basically until this is settled everything that is in the can is all that can be shown.

I like "Hopefully in Production".

We can hold a contest to see who comes up with the most witty interim name for the thread.

"OLTL: Not In Production"

It's a mere one letter change. Simple. Clear. Direct.

that sounds...maybe kind of good?

I remember a time in March when these threads were all aflutter with hope and excitement and I thought having the soaps back for summer with be a great destressor from bar exam studying. How time has flown. The bar exam is now my destressor from PP. What i wouldn't give to be one of those FB commenters in a bubble demanding Jessica back, complaing about cursing and asking why Destiny has lap band surgery.

I'm sure the Union will probably make a statement soon and we'll have a better idea of how frayed this is between them. I'm thinking the actors are likely muzzled on this one?

    • And every show she leaves is so unstable it takes years to recover, if it recovers at all. Objectively I can say she has a good eye for the look of the shows she is producing, and she knows how to film drama and strive for good acting. I don’t really fault her casting when it comes to new talent, her FOJ’s sometimes fit and sometimes don't though. She also interferes with writers to the detriment of her shows, favors problematic men’s egos on set and gives way less respect to women performers. Her work is often thematically very dark, and misogynistic. Something happened to her a year or so into Guiding Light. The show starts to come unraveled, she basically forced out the writing team that had been bringing the show success. She starts manipulating things like focus groups to get what she wants, and starts building the shows around the men (Buzz as example) and weak women (Lucy). She took over OLTL and tried to fully direct the writing while producing the show. On GH her instincts were so disastrous that they forced Guza/Pratt on her and gave them Associate Producer titles for more money and some agency in the story. And even then, it took until the Brenda return to fully save her ass. And on top of that she is majorly responsible for the show losing Sarah Brown, Amber Tamblyn, Genie Francis, and not securing Vanessa for a longer stay. And now that we know Guza didn’t want to kill Alan off, her fingerprints are all over that one IMO. The only thing I respect about her outside some casting that Mark Teschner brought to her is that she recognized Erika Slezak was too important at OLTL and still too vital to put out to pasture as only the mother of Joey, Jessica, and Kevin, and hand wringing sister of Todd. Emmy’s aren’t everything. Y&R had been number one for decades and truthfully should have been dethroned multiple times but habit and name recogniztion count for something.
    • Meg Bennett wrote for Y&R while appearing as Julia.
    • Everytime Liam appears on Screen I’m like: oh wait.. hey. It’s Liam. He’s still there?“ Like i don‘t know what it is but I always forget that he’s still around lol
    • Heather is a director AND writer at B&B, both in an irregular capacity.   Lawrence St. Victor is part of B&B's writing team for several years now.
    • Not much to bitch about today, but Cat & Liam?  Could be nice Horton Square is going to hell in a hand basket.  First looting and errant pumpkins, now there's rampant purse snatching.  Alice would be horrified. Meanwhile, Cat has the worst luck.  Yesterday she got hit by a pumpkin, and today her wrist was injured.  I hope she doesn't burn herself on the turkey next, it will ruin her nails, if she doesn't get accidentally pregnant from the turkey baster first.

    • If I were Eva, the response back to Kat's uncalled for comment was 'Feeling is mutual, I wish your mom had decided to quit while she was ahead with Martin'
    • I think the question is/was less whether he disliked her and more whether he was throwing in the towel due to her stories all tanking.
