Nothing exciting but I had to share this caption. Rob Gorrie should sue them for confusing him with JPL.

Rapper Snoop Lion, formerly known as Snoop Dogg, looks right at home chilling with John-Paul Lavoisiers character Rex Balsom on the set of daytime drama 'One Life to Live.'

They fixed it and still made a mistake...

Rapper Snoop Lion, formerly known as Snoop Dogg, looks right at home chilling with Robert Gorries character Michael Buchanan on the set of daytime drama 'One Life to Live.' Snoop, who wrote the theme music for the now-online-only soap opera, is slated to make a special guest appearance.

What, Corbin's dad David Reivers played a role on One Life to Live too? Why didn't anybody ever mention that? Also, totally agree with his comment about AMC doing better if it had been able to have more familiar faces. Soaps benefit from stability and longevity.

AMC does have familiar faces. MM/ES choose not to use them in favor of making it the Ajanda/Pelia show. Good riddance Marlene and Elizabeth.

Here is the thing... I bet PP made a mandate that both shows had to feature the younger characters constantly.

However, SBH & TR were able to feature those young characters yet provide scenes/stories involving their veterans at the same time... while MM/ES were unable to do so right out of the gate. If I'm reading Cady's blog correctly, the fact that MM/ES were not familiar with the long term characters right away was the reason they weren't featured right away. Cady explained that the headwriters were getting more and more comfortable with the veterans but that in this day and age, you couldn't take your time learning this and were axed. Of course, I would have chosen LC/CH right away just to make sure.. imho.

Wow. It's like they're saying Rob Gorrie's too insignificant to be bothered with.

At least they didn't say Eddie Alderson. I feel like the Daily News just lazily reran a caption from when Snoop appeared with JPL in 2008.

The balance was off, and I hope that changes now, but I can't fault MM/ES too much in this case, I'm sure one of their initial mandates (when they literally had what like several weeks to whack out a bunch of stories) was to particularly focus on the young cast, so they did it. SBH and even TR at One Life had more time, and more of a history with the show, though I suspect they also were told to emphasize yougn cast. Now that it's clear what most of the onlineviewers want I do suspect it will be more balanced out.

I'm still gonna pretend I have no idea who your stupid combo names refer to though (nothing personal against you--I just find it an obnoxious online fan habit, usually used only when it's about characters they dislike, and more to the point most of the time I can never figure out who the name refers to. But it makes valid points sound petty and immature.)

I agree with that. I'd add though that the reason they didn't go with LC/CH right away is they felt with the rush for initial stories they had to pick well established people with a history of headwriting (and I fully suspect the plan was to quickly axe them--I wonder if they knew about this, or if SBH heard about it and it was a reason she left early or what? I woulda expected Racina at least to release a martini fueled video explaining one way or the other.) McPherson seems an odd choice, but they maybe just quickly saw she was free and she had just won an Emmy.

Yeah, I had a feeling there was a mandate (which gives me my one pause about Jeff and Rich - I feel they should've known better and saw how screwed up ABC handled things with their 'youth obsession' but guess not) but in any event, MM/ES couldn't handle the balance that SBH (just a gut feeling it was mostly her) could so still good riddance for me.

As I was unhappy with AMC's balance while feeling good about OLTL (save the lack of Dorian that JP has assured will be corrected) I'm hoping for the best with both. I'm hopeful with AMC (not particularly because of CH/LK who don't go predate 2002 - HATED the writing for 2002-after ... but because Cady said the HW change was due to PP responding to complaints about the balance) while kind of scared for what OLTL will become because I liked what they (SBH/TR) were doing and I have no idea who these new HWs are or their history. I've had no use for 'primetime' tv since Everybody Loves Raymond/Men In Trees left the airwaves. So their writing history means nothing to me.

I don't care for 'squish' names either but I'm sick to death of typing these particular names out so there you have it.

I'm so glad to have Sean Ringgold back, I hope he has chemistry with Destiny so I feel like she actually is Destiny. Is that bad of me to say? It will be nice to have another familiar face around, too.
