We don't want them here...

You know what, you can't have the shows back on TV AND all the smart people. It's not fair!

Though there is some bitching from Canadians too because FX Canada *is* on basic cable which means you have to pay (a minor fee compared to premium cable.)

I can understand the complaints if they were in an area where FX Canada was moving tiers. (I know someone who told me that FX Canada had been on a cheaper cable tier and was moving to a more expensive one. Then just a day or two ago she said that it wasn't moving after all, the cable company changed its mind. This just happened since the announcement of AMC & OLTL being on FX Canada -- the switch and then switch back...)

There are a few exceptions I'll make, like the Linda Gottlieb opening I first started watching OLTL with, but that was horribly unpopular with most people. I expect a full opening and I am glad to get it.

What was wrong with that particular opening, exactly? Not that I'm saying I preferred it, but I am curious as to why others did not.

I think both FF and JPL got lazy because they didn't like their stories. But the shows just kept chugging along and giving them constant frontburner material no matter how defeated and bored the actors appeared onscreen.

ICAM.

ALL DAY FOR FREE

God, this is getting depressing. Not the shows or the relaunch, just these idiot fans.

Next the question will be, "what if I want to watch tomorrow I don't want to pay!!11"

Me: "Life's a bitch, ain't it?"

Seriously. Just confirm their worst fears and see what happens.

I wasn't aware of that--here, as mentioned by me, the HD feed (which I now have) is on a higher tier but not the non-HD. FXCanada doesn't really have enough original material yet to do that IMHO--but it would be interesting if the cable provider thought about moving it due to AMC/OLTL. I do know one provider (I believe Bell) still doesn't carry FXCanada, so people covered by them have a more legit complaint.

People called it the softcore porn opening. I loved it myself... lol

I think you tend to love the first opening you can consciously remember. And I loved the opening too, it just meant to me "OLTL is on now!". Looking at it as an adult I'm like "Uhhhh...". But honestly, it was of it's time. It looks like half the music videos that were on MTV/BET in the early 90s.

i loved the Satin Sheets opening.. I'd welcome it again, especially it seems like it matches the description of the new OLTL

In retrospect, I think the only thing I enjoy about that sequence is the music. The rest belongs in a Visine commercial.

That's definitely true--it was the opening when I started watching too. I still wanna know if the shortlived similar Loving opening was the inspiration.
