Dimitri and Opal? I think Opal was just really excited to see an old friend. Romance isn't in the cards for them.

I wouldn't think Opal would get involved romantically with Dimitri knowing the history with her BFF Erica and him.

Loving Ginger Smith on the Michael Fairman show- she is so positive and cheerful about the prospects for the show and how much she loves her job.

--I'm happy to hear she plans on bigger cliffhangers with the new writing team and wants things to be tighter- no room for error or filler with 2 days a week.

--She said to look for some characters returning after hiatus who weren't initially available. Wouldn't say who they were but said the audience will know when we start mentioning them a lot on the show. Said door is always open for Michael E Knight and he knows that.

-- Wants the audience to remember Liza was a spitfire who had a vulnerable side. That's what she's going for with Colby. She is dismissing all of this Colby was a sweet person nonsense but nicely. Doesn't mind that she's polarizing but thinks audience will see her layers.

--Says she's kind of a prude but thought nothing of the infamous blow job scene, was more concerned with the Cassandra rape scenes making viewers uncomfortable.

Andddd the first caller is asking for a Zendall reunion...oh god followed by a Rylee fan. Lord I should have thought of something and called in.

I was trying to listen on my Kindle Fire last night, but I kept losing the wi-fi connection and I decided I was tired enough to just go to bed instead of turning on the desktop. I wish I had called in to suggest bringing back Ross Chandler with the renewed focus on the Chandler/Cortlandt rivalry. I'm listening to it now.

Tad is definitely returning by the end of the year. To me, that was obvious after listening to Ginger.

I'm curious as to how the show is going to address Christmas. Surely, all these major characters can't be away from Pine Valley during the holidays, right? I have a feeling we'll see a lot of them return.

I wonder if they'll put out a special Christmas episode since with only 2 days a week it looks like they're not really addressing holidays.

OMG I loved the interview with Ginger. She's awesome. I think I like her more than Jen Pepperman. Hate on me all you want but I appreciated all the questions about the missing characters. It definitely sounds like we'll see Erica, Tad, Kendall and Ryan sooner rather than later if all the scheduling works out. Appreciated people asking about Frankie, Brot and Natalia too. And I was reassured to hear that David Canary will basically come in when he feels up to it, it was nice to hear the "official" word on that.

ALL of the questions? Really we didn't need 6 or whatever--someone could have asked about a few of the actors--the reasoning was basically the same. I didn't get the impression we would see Tad or Ryan anytime soon from her answers--but Kendall and even Erica seemed more likely.

I hate to say I prefer Jen or Ginger--but I will say, I see your point. Up to this point Jen has done a couple of well done print interviews, and on MORE she has been featured more, and seems more into things than Ginger did in her brief clips. So though I knew Ginger had a long history with AMC, I didn't get a sense of her vision or enthusiasm--but as I said, this completely won me over, full stop.

I don't actually need to see Tad or Ryan.

Did they explain what is going on with Jordi?

No--I wish someone had asked that--I didn't think to at the time.

As for Tad--she said MEK is one of her closest friends and was one of the first people to befriend her from the show back in the 80s, and she's always talking to him but she made it quite clear he was not ready to come back soon. Ryan she seemed to imply was very busy for a long time--

She did say that one thing is if we start hearing the name of a character who's not currently on the show, quite a bit, than that should be a clue that they'll be coming back....

Damn, we've been telling you all this time, but you were blind boy. tongue.png

Hahah. To be fair, a number of people seemed to think that they simply weren't using David Canary as much as he was willing. I think it stems from the rumour that he was not at all ready to retire from AMC but simply didn't want to move to LA. While LA surely played a part, he seemed ready to retire at that point (he was even sometimes phoning in his performances--which had been unheard of for him) so this makes sense, but it's nice to have it clearly said, I guess. I do hope he chooses to make more appearances--it sounds like he will.

Hrmm I guess by the end of the year could make sense.

Surely they will address Xmas--I know they've avoided most specific holidays due to scheduling, but...

Well at least Brooke won't be cheating on Adam with Dimitri. Makes me think Dimitri and Opal will for sure be a go. With either woman, the reaction of Erica would (and hopefully will) be priceless.

I'm not sure... She told our fave Brooke and Adam fanatic that she wouldn't physically cheat--but implied that something was up between Brooke and Dimi.

One other reassuring thing Ginger said, for those who don't have the patience to listen through all the babble in the interview, was (much like Peperman said about OLTL actually) she was aware that early on too many of the stories and generations were being "islanded" and they had been working hard to integrate everything much more.

didn't they already say something about not having to deal with holidays?

I kind of hope that DC's next appearance is as Stuart. He's always such a healing presence and he's one of those characters like Myrtle, where regardless of who he interacts with, it always makes sense. There are times where characters interact and you say, "Why is X baring their soul to Y? They barely know each other." Stuart was always such a "love the world" busybody that he could talk to anyone and make it alright. With all the stuff going on with JR/AJ and the conflict gearing up between Brooke/Dim/Colby a little bit of Stuart would be wonderful.

I copied and pasted this from a document I created for the questions. The items in the parenthesis are to explain what I mean because the things out side of the parenthesis were just "Notes" for me!

Interns for Writers (I really want to write)

Abc archives (I was going to ask if she knew what all is available and ask if they can try to get the rights)

Promos for OWN (I was going to ask if the OWN promos will air on other networks and that I am still running into people who have no idea the shows are back.)

Carol 25th Anniversary- (I was going to ask if the incident was the 25th anniversary because I have all of that anniversary week including the carol Burnett special and the Oprah Special)

Nina- (I was going to ask if Nina could come in to act as a "Guide" for Pete and Celia also to companion Opal. She could be a good Foil for Opal because she was there when she was breaking up Jenny and Greg! and she is well aware of Palmer hatred for Cliff)

Billy Clyde and Dad loving it!!!!! (I was going to tell her my dad never believed he died and my mother is thankful they never took bets. I was also going to throughout there one of there biggest fights early in there marriage occurred because she forgot to record a week of AMC)

Original Family Restoration (I was going to ask if there is an oppratunity to restore the tylers. I was also going to ask if Tara could come to town the same way Joe was. Meaning Tara could come back widowed and with kids and live with Joe. In turn, Joe would act as Grandma Kate. Kelsey could fall in love with Frankie if he ever came back to tie both families together.

Story Suggestions (I was going to ask were I could submit Story Suggestions)

Frankie is married to Randi as far as the story goes so far.

Oh gosh. Listening to these viewer calls. Please no Ryan/Greenless and Zach/Kendall. I can't.

Rylee and Zendall have MASSIVE, HUGE, TREMENDOUS legions of fans so a person cannot be dismissive or ignore that. It was a big part of the last decade of All My Children. I am thinking that they will be rotated in and out in arcs somewhere down the road a ways.

Thanks to all who tuned in to the interview. Ginger Smith seems committed to the show for the long run of it. I am getting that PP is going to be watching more closely to the next round of 4-5 week intense block filming and maybe reading scripts and being hands-on with the writers, be more involved overall. Ginger Smith knows that things have to be better and get better in order to secure a 2nd season from PP.

I guess the repetition of questions on who is coming back, etc. got difficult. Probably got in the way of the available airtime for the interview.

MEK is taking his time with returning and good for him. He was guarantees and assurances, I am thinking.

Yes, stronger cliffhangers is a good thing.

Acknowledging that she cannot bring back everyone on a half hour, 2 day a week show. The hold-outs who are waiting for their favorite to come back probably is a concern but not too much of a worry, yet. Of course, PP, Ginger and Agnes do not want to lose all those fans or see them walk away from the show because their favorite is not there. All fans have their favorites so there are pluses and minuses to who is back and who they can't bring back. But, those hold-outs are setting time limits and deadlines with PP, Ginger and the show. Fans on different AMC message boards have differing opinions on characters they like and dislike and who they want to see. I am hoping that PP and Ginger Smith just stick with the history and legacy of Agnes Nixon's beloved creation of AMC. It will hold up and stand the test of time for authenticity and originality. Ginger Smith is sticking with her principles and that I respect and admire. Now, is Ginger Smith perfect all the time, well no she is not but she sees errors and fixes them and grows and learns as she goes with Agnes leadership and mentoring.

Yes, the cursing leading to the blow job and glad that she is wanting to move on from all those controversies. PP still runs the show and Ginger Smith complies with their requests as needed. It is clear that PP and Agnes Nixon want to go in a forward progressive manner and the goal is for a 2nd season and that seems positive at this point but of course it could change overnight too (the reduced schedule thing, the cursing thing, the crew Union mess, ).

I did not listen in to the interview show but I thank those who did and for providing a recap of the highlights and lowlights of the interview.

I think Ginger Smith does not want to reveal spoilers and give away anything but she does give hints on future things.

I just want things to go well in the next round of filming so by Oct/Nov we can get the great news that a 2nd season is going to be a happening thing and that is a great indicator to me of the potential for a long term show to look forward to.

From SOD, pretty sure this didn't happen?

"Jane tells Lea that a customer recognized her."

No, that didn't happen on the show. It sounds like Jane would be in the Witness Protection Program.

It might be wishful thinking, but between that and the other spoiler given away in SOD, it makes me wonder if the new headwriters decided to rework both Celia's & Jane's pasts.

didn't they already say something about not having to deal with holidays?

Yeah, they said they wouldn't deal with them on the regular episodes, but what I meant was maybe they'll put out a special bonus episode for Christmas.
