At the time that they bought the rights to AMC and OLTL, ABC was very eager to also cancel GH. They were so sure their new reality lineup would get more viewers or at least hold the same amount of viewers at a lower cost. But time has shown them they were wrong and I doubt they are as eager to cancel GH now.

Ten things I want to see (but probably wont, at least not yet)

1. A GOOD love story for Bianca

2. Erica being over the top for no reason

3. Crazy Annie

4. Reese or Maggie returning

5. One of the Santos siblings returning

6. Jackson Freaking Montgomery

7. An actual police department like they used to have not just Chief Jesse and his band of misfit detectives

8. Story lines that actually happen on screen (Yeah the stupid over the phone divorce still bugs.)

9. David Actually having a child that doesn't die

10. A baby that speaks through talking bubbles like Andorra on Passions (Okay, that's a joke tongue.png )

In fairness, Errol, not everyone follows that so closely. I only just realized in the last week or so that that strange site is made up of old SON people tweeting bitterly. I'll never understand why all the online "reporters" think their whole weird, claustrophobic digital sub-sub-subculture is so important. If not for the recent flurry of PP publciity I'd never have known 3/4ths of these people existed. No offense.

UPDATE 10:31 PM ET: According to sources, Prospect Park does hold licensing rights to “GH” should ABC decide to cancel as reported by the Times, but only the online rights.
From SON:
Yes, initially we updated the report to say online only. But then we were told subsequently it was for both. So we updated the report to reflect that.

    • Doug can legally order drinks and has since he arrived so I assume he's like 22 or 23.  A little too old to be creeping on Holly, but they are all graduating or graduated (Ari) so it's not the worst.
    • I just think with high schoolers, you have to establish the age of their romantic interest.  Otherwise, it can get really creepy.  If Doug was 19-20, I would've enjoyed his poetry/books discussion with Holly because on paper, it was actually pretty good.
    • I am glad Ned gets some say.  I don't really understand why he was left out of this decision.  We have no evidence that Ned wouldn't have 100% supported Brook's choice. I can understand leaving Sonny and Olivia out of this if BLQ didn't want to reveal Dane was the dad, but Ned should have been in the loop. Yes, Donna is the most adorable child in the world.   An unnecessary Sonny/Carly child, but adorable AF.   Justice for Avery though.  Where was she?
    • Peyton Meyer is 26, but I'm telling myself Doug's about 21, since all the actors in his group (Tate/Holly/Arianna/Sofia) are all a few years older than their characters. Actually, Leo Howard is a decade older than Tate! Still not the greatest optics, but still much more tolerable.
    • Michael coming back and taking his son home was a great cliffhanger......however, my number one pet-peeve on soaps is episode-to-episode continuation.  How in the world could the writers not show us Gio/Brooklyn/Lois?? I was so bummed by that.  Is Scarlett Spears (Donna) not just the cutest little girl? Those dimples!  She was so adorable with her performance.
    • If he's younger, he is very precocious when it comes to loan sharking, prison, and poetry.  I wonder if he is meant to be younger than Javi?
    • That was another thing was surprised me in a good way. Having a teenage character hook up with a total stranger on her second episode?  Wow. We don't often see that.  But to have it happen with Diddler-Doug? This is now the second girl he's gone after who's still in high school.  In my mind, Diddler-Doug is in his mid 20's, unless the show has established that he's not?
    • Does anyone else think Lauren Buglioli talks too softly? I get she's supposed to be a pampered princess, but I can't connect to her performances because I always feel like she needs more grit or something. She needs to be more ferocious for me. More of a firecracker, because she's coming off like less than a sparkler. I will say bringing on Tracy was exactly what Anita needed because she's been all stoic all the time. Seeing her be infallible made her feel human, rootable, and relatable.  This was the first episode where I feel like the new Ted had settled in well. Pretty good for a near immediate recast.
    • I agree -- Wally Kurth was good in the brief moments they gave him. So was Lisa LoCicero. I'm glad the writers remembered that Ned matters here. As much as I appreciated today's episode, I also think Gio should have had scenes beyond the replay of the reveal scene. Cutting just the scenes of Joss discussing Gio would've opened up some time.
