See--I did think, given the limitations, that the last year and a half or whatever we had post Pratt of AMC was on a definite upswing. Yes, once Swajeski/Kreizman replaced Broderick's quick interim stint (with Broderick as an associate writer) the show did suffer, mostly from being too boring and traditional IMHO, but I did get a sense that they were trying to find the sense of community again, etc.

I'm VERY mixed on the Project Orpheus insanity--but I get why Nixon and Broderick decided to do it, so I cut them some leeway and I loved pretty much everything else going on in the final months. Now I grant you AMC is very special to me and I probably grant it more leeway than I would another show (I must considering some of the years I kept watching everyday) so I have a bias. But I do think some love and thought was definitely put into trying to improve it and, thankfully, in its last little while I didn't find it as unrecognizable as I had in some other eras this decade.
