I'll be blunt and say this without thought...if you can sign up to use Facebook and befriend a soap star, you have no excuse for not knowing how to watch a show on Hulu.

Thank you!

Exactly. And scores of people have commented multiple times to outline all of the possible viewing options, why certain stars/characters aren't on the show, when the show will begin, etc. People are just being ignorant (as in ignoring) and hostile over a soap for nothing.

A lot of this is sounding like Brian Frons looking down on the audience and saying you have to "train" viewers to do a certain thing ... It's hypocritical to chastise networks for ignoring or looking down on the audience when this is the gut reaction, that viewers are just stupid, when we are confronted by confusion.

There's a difference between using Facebook and going to Hulu. Believe it or not, a lot of Internet-savvy people have never heard of Hulu, including even people in the younger generations. It's one thing to be upset with comments that are openly hostile to the show, but a lot of the comments are just people being confused.

I agree, totally.

Most of the comments are misplaced anger, though, and when people try to explain things to them, they resort to that know-it-all "IT IS NOT FREE!! IT'S TELLING ME TO PAY!!! I DON'T THINK SO!!!" nonsense. It's frustrating because they're already planning not to watch simply because they think they won't be able to, and that's gonna hurt the shows in the long run.

Hmm. Jon Hensley wouldn't be a bad choice.

I don't think he would be a bad choice for Jake either. I'm not sure why he comes across as old to some people, because he doesn't to me.

Understand your feelings, All My Shadows.

In all seriousness, though, I don't know if it's truly hit me yet that the shows will be back. I mean, I've had random fits of excitement and those weird smiling fits you get when you read Cady's blogs or watch behind the scenes videos or whatever, but I still have to remind myself that it's coming back every now and then. Noon'll roll around, and I'm like "I would be watching AMC right now, but--" and then after a second, I'll remember. April 29th just seems so, so far away! I hope, whatever happens, that this thing can prosper. We all know that we're high on excitement right now, and that first episode will probably sober us all up very quickly. There will be things we like, things we don't like. Some people will be done before the episode is over and won't tune in again, while others will jump right back into it. The new cast members and characters that we're already speaking fondly of might end up being our least favorite parts of the show. Whatever the case, I just hope none of this is done in vain. Even if these shows don't last a year, hopefully it opens the door for other things in the future.

But for now? Ima just wait and see, yall!

The first week of taping was when it definitely hit me that it's coming back. The new promo video has me really excited now! But I agree we don't know what we'll actually think of the new AMC until the first episode airs. Having watched the show on ABC for over 30 years, I know I'll give it a longer chance than most people might. That said, with the comments made by Jill Larson and Cady McClain, I'm really optimistic that the scripts are classic character-based, emotionally compelling soap opera.

I'd love to encourage @allmychildren to offer new, online episodes WITH closed captions. So many fans of show are deaf and crave access!

I never knew Marlee was a fan and I hope for the deaf viewers there are closed captions!

I think Hulu offers CC on their website, I don't know. I'm not sure if they offer it when streamed on your TV. I'm glad she mentioned that though, and plus, any mention the reboots get is good.

I think Marlee, along with her friend, soap actress Linda Cook (RIP), pushed for CC on soaps in the early 90s. I think Loving may have been the first.

All the programs I've watched on Hulu and Hulu Plus offer closed captioning. It's your job to turn the setting on. RE: What William said... The soaps were always provided in closed captioning and I don't see why they wouldn't be now that they are in Hulu. If the show does have to enable it, I'm 100% sure they will.

They could even consider offering the shows in Spanish too.

Offering the shows in Spanish would definitely be a smart move.

Conversely, many telenovelas now offer English captions with their shows.

Seems like both English and Spanish captions will be fairly straightforward for Hulu to carry out for these shows.
