From The Nanny...Fran takes over for Heather Biblow (Pamela Anderson) on The Young and the Restless:

Not to mention the episode where Stephen Nichols appears as a soap actor and in one of the last scenes claims his character has an evil twin. Then he dons the patch.

Robert Townsend (Hollywood Shuffle) used to do HBO comedy specials in the late 80s and he did a comic parody, The Bold, The Black, The Beautiful. It's up on You Tube and it's hilarious! Stephanie E. Williams (Amy, Y&R) even played a role on the parody.

On the Simpsons Moe had plastic surgery and went on a soap. When they showed the opening credits there was a grandfather clock ticking (a parody of Days Hourglass) and when they started showing the cast they used the old black and white sketches like the early years of Y&R.

In the Sandra Bullock flick, 28 Days, one of the patients is a die-hard fan of the fictitious soap "Santa Cruz". They show scenes (using DAYS' actual hospital set) of the show and the patients later act out a comical scene from the show.

In 1x13 of Melrose Place, Sandy Harling (Amy Locane) was written out via getting a role on the soap opera Forever & Tomorrow.

She and Rhonda (Vanessa Williams) had a banter about the shows outrageous plots and her last scene was waking up as an amnesia patient.
