From the little I do see, can that not be argued for all the characters involved. The Sami can't pick a man story with the 3 same guys is just so old that it just seems like recycled garbage where nothing really evolves.

She really needs a strong story outside of a man. I did see some of her scenes with Rafe's little sister. The evil baby grandma story could be kind of fun.

The baby storyline has been the best thing to happen to Sami in years. I loved how they weaved her in from the start with being there when Gabi found out she was pregant and have kept her there, mixing it up with Gabi and Nick and trying to be in Wills life. I really, really hope they keep her in it and ive loved the nods and mentions to her own history.

Id love nothing more than for Sami to go back to Rafe, sending EJ over the edge where he snaps and murders Rafe in front of Sami and either Sami kills EJ to save herself or he gets arrested and sent to the crazy house. They both need to exit her life and Lucas needs to stay her friend. A single working mom Sami scheming with Kate to their grand/greatgrandchild from that evil gabi and nick would work fine for me.

I agree, in a way EJ and Rafe have both sucked the vibrance out of Sami and vice-versa but she is more necessary to the canvas than they are. It's not a strong female story when the spirit of the character is being buried alive with cement.

rafe is completely disposable and EJ really is too, he just has more ties to the history of the show, but they are never played so whats the point?

Marlena/Sami/Will is where the heart of the show is at, for me, now. I wish it was played more.

Sami/Kate vs. Gabi would be made of all kinds of win. Maybe throw in Nicole on Gabi's side just so the little brat isn't completely eaten alive.

the ONLY men that Sami ever had 'super couple' transitional potential with were Brandon and EJ - two men that had/have choke charisma, accepted her inner-bad girl, and felt behooved to 'fight' for her on a certain level. Super couples don't work when the 'knight in shining armor' isn't 'fighting' for the 'damsel' on a certain level. And Rafe, Lucas, Austin have all had this very blasé approach towards their feelings for Sami, which is awful and only furthers the notion of Sami's 'unworthiness' of love.

anyway, I think now would be the perfect time to bring back Brandon, then he and EJ can REALLY have it out for Sami.

I agree. Brandon was the only other man who accepted and embraced almost all of Sami's flaws. Maybe a Brandon/Sami/EJ triangle would work better, and then bring in Nicole to the situation since she wouldn't want either man with her.

i dont think Nicole would really care if Sami and EJ were together unless she was interested in him again herself.

I guess i classify a lead/star as someone who drives story. A good girl, an ingenue can absolutely be a lead - Marlena and Belle come to mind first for days - but they have to lead as those women do, and sami has in the past. Leading doesnt mean being the catalist for what happens, but all of samis actions are actually reactions to what the men in her life do, and that would still be lead except the way its done is very much supporting to me. She props rafe. she props ej. she supports them. Literally any woman could be in samis spot. Sweeney is without doubt the female lead on days, the star of the show, but she feels very, very supporting in this triangle now and has for awhile.

I would classify leads in term of overall centricity in terms of storyline and view points. Their absolutely have been passive leads in stories for instance and not every character who pushes story in a new or different direction is a leading character. Heather on GH for instance was never a lead character although she made lots of huge moves on that show over the past year.

I would for instance categorize Sami and EJ as leads in the babyswitch story even though it was Nicole who was calling all the shots and controlling all the decision making about Syndey for basically the entire storyline. But overall her choices revolved around EJ and Rafe another big player in that story, his choices revolved around Sami. The central character in those storylines weren't Nicole for instance even though she had the power, the control and did the most through out most of it. Sami as of now is a passive lead, but she is still a lead. It's about her. She is still the focal point of this triangle and she is still causing EJ and Rafe to chase after her and cause them to do things in order to woo her, and want her even though she isn't doing much other then swinging between both of them because of her indecision. As I said before she's in ingenue lead role, not unlike a position Hope was in on B&B awhile ago.

I think this is mostly down to the fact that Sami isn't being written the way she should be and that's the true problem. They need to drop her as a pseduo-heroine and write her back as the scheming villainous bitch she truly is. That's the problem that is taking it's toll on all three of them. If she were written correctly I think they would all become more enjoyable as they will all start fulfilling the roles they were meant to take as characters.

EJ isn't disposable. He is the only male character on the show who stands out from the I-am-right sanctimonious Brady-Horton parade of white knights. EJ is needed. I would say EJ isn't the problem, Sami and Safe (i.e. Lumi/Saustin part 5) are.

the ONLY men that Sami ever had 'super couple' transitional potential with were Brandon and EJ - two men that had/have choke charisma, accepted her inner-bad girl, and felt behooved to 'fight' for her on a certain level. I agree with this. Brandon and EJ are the only suitable men for Sami, and since Sami is defined by her relationships and always has been those are her only appropriate suitors. I don't think EJ needs her to remain viable. I actually think the opposite is correct. Sami falls flat more times then not since 2007. She was horrible as the soccer mom, she was horrible as a business tycoon, she was horrible as mother of the year, she was horrible as the stepford wife. Only one Sami works, and that's raging super soap opera bitch Sami lashing out at the world and scheming her little heart out and she needs something to bring that back out of her.
