IIRC, ANOTHER WORLD was forced to abbreviate that opening, because it was too expensive to keep updating it at a time when the cast was in so much flux. Of course, when you are being realistic about things like budget, you end with something like the GL 2007 opening, so go fig.

That makes sense, but it seems so strange that they went with their frickin' bumper for an opening.

I actually thought it was a time constraint issue at first, but then I remembered: TV LIKED having theme songs back then!

I had a terrible time picking out the cast shots from all the other images. And the less I say about seeing BE's Harley gettin' down with her baaaaad self at the end...!

The only GUIDING LIGHT opening I loved was the original "My Guiding Light" open, which incorporated the logo from the previous "disco opening." IMO, the theme music was beautiful, the light radiating at the center of the screen made sense, and it was easy to update, too, while keeping its original tone and flavor.

That ER style AW opening was ugly, and they couldn't afford to update it so they would just take people out as they left the show. By the end, it was like two shots and then a title card for Another World.

YES that was awesome. But seeing ShadowLindsay was kind of creepy after she left the show. Actually, can we talk about CH being in the opening, like, YEARS, after she was bumped to recurring? That woman must've been in bed - literally - with somebody.

I know this isn't particularly about themes but I just have to say AMC's last one was great, until the guitar riffs come rushing in and it all goes to cheesy hell. Always bothered me. LOL

So many contract players never got in. No Johnny, No Claudia, No Nadine, No Layla...and on and on and on.

I waited everyday for Johnny & Claudia's shots. They probably would've looked so badass!

I don't think any of the newer B&B openings have been as good or as timeless as the original. Yes the theme song sounded a bit 80s but they updated it around 2001. It's something, like the 1993 DAYS opening, that never should've been touched.
