I think they both need people who have experience with both shows. I like the "Sister-Soap" feel they use to have were they mentioned one another. Maybe a writer who can write both simultaneously? Or even two separate writers for both shows with someone like Agnes Nixon who can intertwine them to a little bit. Not integrating the shows but making them "Companions".

There are a lot of good options. Gonna get it down to four possibles each

Jill Lorie Hurst. I think she could take either show in the right direction. Plus, I enjoyed what she did with Guiding Light in the end.
