HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

  • Member

WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

Production starts Monday. That doesn't mean filming.

I have said that all along - pre-production means getting all the pieces together, so that filming/taping begins at usually a much later date, but there were some people (not pointing the finger at anyone in particular), who maintained that the first episode was going to be shot on Monday, 2/25, which I never thought was the case.

LOL I love Jill. Her tone in this video is certainly less ra!ra!ra! than the last two and a little more "Ummm what the hell have I gotten myself into?"

I've been as skeptical about this as anyone next to Khan (who really ought to come back), but I didn't hear that at all in her tone.

I thought she was trying to be playfully mysterious in a sense. Not a "I wonder what I got myself into" tone.

AMC Facebook page posted a picture of Trent Garrett. Please don't tease me if he's not coming back, AMC. I do want him back though!

Ugh! One of the worst Actors AMC has hired. A wooden plank! I hope he's not back & they just posted that to get the ladies talking. Sorry jfung! LOL.

David Canary has aged some since last seen. I am so happy he and JL are back. It truly is an internet miracle that if only the internet and broadband existed like it does today even just a few years back people might still be watching GL and ATWT. I hope this i the biggest thing to happen to soap since they went to TV!

The actor who played Damon is named Finn Wittrock, hehe. I'd like him back too.

But it makes a lot of sense to bring back Asher ... He is a link to the show's recent past for recent fans. If the show is recasting Petey as appears possible, having a Cortlandt presence/rivalry/friendship between cousins Asher and Petey (perhaps a triangle with Colby), with older cousin Dixie interacting with them and Opal as the interested elder figure, could work really well.

Also Trent Garrett can act fine ... The writers just didn't know what to do with his character. Bringing back Trent Garrett would mean they didn't need to worry about training yet another newbie in soap acting or in what Pine Valley and this "All My Children" show were.

The show has been missing a link under 30.

Another idea is they could have Trent Garett playing Petey, not Asher, and just sort of do a wink and a nod about the change in roles, maybe saying how Petey looks like his cousin Asher who has moved away from town.

With my favorite guy...after Palmer, of course.pic.twitter.com/8Qzq3MCzLn

I can't help but smile when I see Jill with David. I can't wait to see them onscreen again!

In a very good mood today. Got lots of good news and I'm looking forward to getting some sleep next week. Oh happy day, oh happy day....

Please share the good news ASAP!

LOL Errol. Clearly we'll be getting news Monday I'd assume about AMC.

Maybe I'm expecting too much, but I think we'll get behind-the-scenes pictures and stories from various entertainment sites, as well as more cast and production info (I'm curious about who else is on the writing staff).

Cool! This is why even if Prospect Park and Hulu fail miserably at advertising, people are still going to know AMC and OLTL are coming back ... SOD and the other soap mags are in every supermarket aisle in the country. The confused shoppers may think it's coming back to TV but after doing a little research if they're at all interested, they'll find out they can watch it online.

Agreed. I took her tone as amazement that she (we) are at the point where AMC is back in production.
