HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

  • Member

WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

Its crazy you never hear about Chris Goutman anymore. Very surprising considering he was exec producer of ATWT for 11 years an AW for a 1 year. He has 12 years of experiences but you never really hear about him anymore. I actually thought at one point he was being considered to be EP for Y&R but that never happened. Barbara Bloom loved him but she is n longer there.

not all of it is free. I wanted to watch some eppy's of BTVS the other day and it said I needed hulu plus to watch it

And this is why I wont pay for it if it appears online...shows that were free and now you have to pay for it..ummm...no

PP should have gotten the rights to the shows to release dvds instead....I would have bought them.

It's amazing to see the unemployed soapies come out of the woodwork to facebook friend the new PP exec producers. Pepperman has some new friends. Chrystal Chappell and Kim Zimmer! Kim wants Echo to be the star. Chrystal wants to be headwriter and star of the show! Has Kimmie slimmed down?

Because he was just down right awful at ATWT. It was his way or no way and thats one reasons why ATWT got cancelled. He kept shoving us with useless newbie characters or characters we didnt care about in boring silly awful storylines. The only story I cared for was Reid and he killed him off...The man needs to stay away. Its like he became some maniac producer....his honeymoon with Martha didnt last long and he treated Scott Bryce like trash.

I doubt that PP is thinking that people would buy into Hulu Plus just for these shows. But if this is real Hulu is the perfect place to put them. They'll probably do the thing where you can get the 2-3 most recent epsiodes for free for a limited time window or a one week delay on episodes and if you want more access that comes with Hulu plus.

I love Crystal's new soap The Grove. But it's time to let the Olivia/Natalia thing go. She's very talented and driven. But Kim's had her day. I want to see Kathryn Hays on a soap. Class act!

LOL I saw that too. I also saw Jean Passanante as her friend. Oy.

And with ATWT, Carl I was actually thinking the same thing earlier today about the ATWT budget. You rarely heard anything about it, yet they kept so many veterans on contract (likely with a 1 episode guarantee) and the show never looked too bad any time I tuned in (set/lights/etc. not the writing ..)

You know what though, In terms of writers, I'm hoping for new blood of course but if they do hire hasbeens, it will be interesting to see (IF this gets off the ground) how a daytime show does without network interference.

I'm not quite sure I understand the logic of why you would pay to buy a DVD of episodes you've already seen but won't spend money to watch brand new episodes.

This is from Erika Slezak's Facebook, which I found by going to Jennifer Pepperman's Facebook. It's a response to someone.

"Amazing that a year has passed and now they want to bring OLTL back. Hope it works out- it would mean jobs for so many people and entertainment, for millions"

I noticed that she had a Facebook but it looked like mostly personal and industry friends. I decided not to friend request her, but I thought her page was cute to see, nonetheless.
