WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

so I guess OLTL needs to recast Rex and Gigi, the Ford brothers, Jessica because they were all in big stories when OLTL ended and we need every character that was on the show when it ended, even though it is only 30 minutes, we need 40 characters.

But they haven't given up those characters. That's my point. Rex and Gigi and Shane were leaving for London at the end of OLTL but if PP wants to bring them home nothing prevents that and only whatever explanations they want to write for them in their absence is required. Same with the Ford's. Their stories aren't continuing outside the OLTL universe. Starr and James broke up. Robert died and I honestly don't remember what happened with Dani and her sweetie.

I can see that the people who just want John and Sam to continue can't grasp that I'm talking about more than pairings.

If GH had cast the actors in new roles from the jump there would be no issue. OLTL most likely would recast the roles then

same with John and Starr they moved away. I just wonder, say these actors were playing other roles on GH or were on other soaps, would people be demanding these characters return, whether they are recast or not, John and Starr's stories were concluded when OLTL ended, they were wrapped up with a neat bow. I could care less if they are recast, I have no doubt RH and ME will find other work, I just think it is ridiculous that PP has decided to focus on this and arguing about this instead of focusing on you know putting a show on the air

Starr yes. John no. Not as of OLTL ending. You just keep presuming that there is this huge overlap in viewership or that all OLTL viewers followed those three characters to GH. Not necessarily true.

you know OLTL viewers I think are pretty smart, if they want to watch OLTL they have to have a computer which means they can look up any info, in fact since PP has decided not to advertise they only way people know about these shows is to have a computer and follow soap sites or pick up a soap magazine, the three going to GH was even advertised during OLTL the last week it was on the air

IMHO GH giving them new characters will fail

Since production will not start until the 25th they really can't as there is nothing TO advertise! Also, isn't HuLu supposed to do the advertising? You really need to stop blaming PP for everything!

It's hard to figure out what's best. I think Ron probably thought PP would never come through, so he tried to save as much of OLTL as he could. I won't fault the man for that because it made me happy to see a little piece of Llanview again when I thought it was lost forever.

I do see Todd as the biggest draw, so if they could get RH to do both shows in a limited capacity, that would be best. I'm not sure that KA is crucial to either show. Starr could probably be pretty easily recast. I guess Easton could play Caleb and John recast on OLTL. Whatever happens, I'll be watching both shows for at least the first 6 months to give them a solid try. I pray this reboot works.

I see on Marlene McPherson's LinkedIn page she lists herself as "Co-Head Writer All My Children". So we now know for sure that there is someone else. Hopefully not someone from the Dena Higley/Victor Gialanella camp that she is friends with.

That is not the point. But as long as you don't care about OLTL there's no middle ground.

Damn peeps ....this thread is hilarious! Love how the AMC/OLTL war has transitioned to the GH/OLTL battle! I'm so happy to have my only two soaps (I ever faithfully watched) back I could care less about those three characters.

Heck Give me back TSJ as the good looking & far better acted Todd, let the goofball RH (whom I use to love) play bozo on GH for all I care. ME can brute on GH as Caleb or whomever ....he's not..needed... "NEEDED" on OLTL. And KA can take her singing routine on the road (LOL don't fully follow GH...has she burst into song yet?) or just make her a different GH character too....and recast Starr. Or just drop them all 3 off both soaps....whatever. All this hubbub over these 3 is laughable and OVER the TOP. Y'all acting like these three are Vimal, Rama, and Phylicia....aka the STARS of OLTL.

Soaps In Depth has heard exclusive details about the taping schedule for the revivals of ALL MY CHILDREN and ONE LIFE TO LIVE. According to a source close to the productions, AMC will tape first for two weeks at the Stamford, Connecticut studios. Then, OLTL will shoot episodes for five weeks. Next, AMC will return and tape for five weeks. "They'll be alternating back and forth until each show has completed 17 weeks of taping," says a source. "Everyone is looking forward to seeing each other again."

As previously reported, Prospect Park has announced that production will commence the week of February 25.

I knew nothing about House Of Cards until it was mentioned in an article about PP. since then I've seen a lot of ads for it. Both Netflix and Hulu advertise. I think that Hulu will promote the shows when they are available.

Excuses, excuses. Larry Hagman and Patrick Duffy were hitting the pavement, promoting Dallas return awhile before filming.

PP should be hitting up every media outlet they can at this point. Not at the last moment. Instead, its bloggers like Errol, the people at DC, and Nelly-b*tch breaking all the news and practically promoting these shows. PP is just lackluster and lazy. These shows might not carry weight like they use too, but they still carry enough.
