WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

When I read the words "forced into it" I think about somebody working at a department store who isn't getting paid for their overtime or a server at a restaurant who has taxes deducted from her tips. I am not claiming to know what RH or KA thought about PP or what they think now but I will be good and goddamned before I feel sorry for either of them or for Michael Easton, an actor I happen to love and the only person out of the three I give half a !@#$%^&*] about. None of these people are eating out of a dumpster or choosing between their medical bills and their mortgage. They are three pretty, white, healthy people who are getting paid for acting on a soap. Not coal mining or dancing on a pole or washing dishes at Red Lobster. ACTING. And unlike just about every other soap actor in the business they actually have two companies fighting over them.

All three of these people are going to be just fine and when all this is over they are probably going to have a little extra money in the bank.

I'm not speaking from a place of sympathy. Far from it. Just stating that I believe all 3 probably feel just fine where they are. I don't give a chit about any of them, really. But I do like Roger with LW. I'm being selfish.

Can someone update that news only thread? Because watching everyone "guess" as to what they "think" is "happening" and getting "angry" about it is just really f.ucking obnoxious.

Its called a discussion board....I guess SON doesnt stand for that anymore. It's sad posters are leaving because several if not a lot of posters have gotten into superbitch mode on here for no apparent reason.

ABC has a contract with Michael Easton, Roger Howarth and Kristen Alderson. As long as ABC deems it, they will have jobs. However, Prospect Park licensed the rights to their characters. If they (and ABC) don't move over to OLTL via Prospect Park, ABC is contractually obligated to create new characters (or old) for them. Otherwise, if they lose their jobs...it's ABC's fault. They knew it was a loan and not something permanent, yet they still brought them onto the show.

Nothing to get ants in your pants over people . We can all be civil here. No need for drama (we watch it on TV, that should be enough ).

The ABC statement says they are happy to have the actors stay at the show. They didn't say as which characters. All indications point to Prospect Park and ABC still negotiating over this matter. The Prospect Park statement says they are willing to work with ABC/GH.

OMG IMO it makes most sense for ABC & PP to allow these actors to play these characters on both shows To share them. However the fault here lies with ABC. Im sorry yes PP failed the first time but they still had the lease til Feb 28th 2013 to get the shows up & going & they did. They are in their legal right to take those roles back. ABC knew that. GH knew that and the actors knew that, now we are saying they are victims please.

Both sides take ur egos down 100 notches & do whats right for all involved. Work it out.

don't they have the resolve this in like the next week or so? The actors need to find new jobs, PP needs to recast, Gh needs to adjust their stories, how long can they remain at a standstill?
