EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

Quick Question, since PP have the rights to original OLTL/ AMC characters..I wonder how Skye factors into all of this.

They owned the rights when she appeared in November, and it seemed to be a nonissue. At this point, she's a GH character.

I may be reading into it, but I also think McPherson probably has a co-headwriter and they've probably been working closely with Agnes to get the scripts ready to start shooting next month. I'd be very surprised if there isn't another announcement by the end of the week revealing who her partner is and probably more casting news as well (maybe I'm deluded, but I just can't believe they would go forward without any of the Martins).

I just hope this co-writer knows how to pace a damn story.

Speaking of co-writers, I wonder why Darrell Ray Thomas isn't joining Marlene at AMC. Does anyone know why?

They do have Eden of the East subbed, which was great, and all 70something episodes of Monster, which is a slow but rewarding process.

I never made it through all of Monster--simply because I worshipped the original manga, and then felt it difficult to commit to such a long adaptation that, from the episodes I saw, looked extremely faithful (which isn't a bad thing). I'm not sure if Monster ever got a dub--it doesn't seem to be that kinda show. I know one streaming online anime site is releasing all 40 or so of the 70s classic melodrama/historical soap Rose of Versailles which I grew up with as a kid (in French)--they and some other studios are starting to show interest in some titles--and quickly releasing them legally subbed online that otherwise prob would never get picked up here, so I'm interested to see what else gets picked up.

(I'll check Eden of the East--You are the second person to recommend it to me).

Since Nelson has all the intel, one of us should go over to his twitter and ask him about Canadian viewing options.

Though seriously if Prospect ever does answer questions from Errol, I'd ask him to ask or mention us poor Canadians.

I've always thought it would be nice if the shows struck a deal with iTunes, I would like the option of buying/keeping episodes that aren't shittyass YouTube copies or DVR

I have zero issue with the recent pro released DVRs and never get the complaint--but otherwise I agree. I can't picture paying much to watch streaming, but if I could download--and then maybe put them on my phone to watch on long bus commutes to work, etc and keep a copy, I prob would. ( Though the ideal would be to somehow watch them on tv--either through the internet option I have or on a flash drive, etc.)

Monster got dubbed. They showed the dubbed version on the Syfy channel.

I feel like he'll be back eventually. He sounds like he hasn't completely closed the door on it, and I actually think a new regime + the show's timeout might actually help Ryan as a character. It seemed that after '05 they decided to just throw him into everything and see if it would stick. I would like to see Ryan return to being the flawed but loyal guy in PV without being a sacrimonious douchenozzle.

Ryan was a good character before Greenlee and before McTavish going all worship-nuts on him. I always say it is she (Greenlee) who damaged his character. He was changed for that pairing more than she was changed for that pairing.

I've been watching old Ryan & Kendall couple videos on YouTube, and damn - kidnapped, beated, and killed 100 times over potential. Frons messed up with that with his desire for Rylee. They killed R/K 100 times over, and I doubt they could ever do them successfully again (I don't even want them to ever try again) BUT the videos just brought me back to when I thought they were hot as hell in all their dysfunctional, hyper-lust glory.

I loved Ryan and Kendall prior to McTavish. Much less so when she came back.

I also always was into the forbidden pairing of Ryan and Hayley, which the show teased a lot but never really broke the seal with.

I liked Ryan & Kendall back then, too.

I'm glad to see so many others loved Ryan & Kendall together too!

I wouldn't mind Ryan coming back if he were written as a flawed character again and not the sanctimonious hero of the show.

If CamCam agrees to come back, they should write to his strengths for a change and just have him parade around town, shirtless and mute.
