HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

Sigh. I loved their relationship (with both SMG and AM) soooo much. It's really my favorite soap story ever. On what other soap would they have their main female hate their own child that seriously for that long? It was more complex than hate but IJS.

SMG ain't going to do an internet soap. I don't think AM is eager to do a character long-term after the ten year run at AMC - possible due to the fact Kendall became so not fun those last few years. It probably wasn't fun for her to do the role either. I do hope AM comes back eventually. When Kendall comes back hopefully she's written a lot more like McTavish's version. Hopefully a lot of the character's are written much better than they were on AMC those last 5-10 years. Also hopefully there will be less balance issues.

Angela,

Have you seen this? :)

PC, gimme a minute and I'll answer that. I'm using IE and Firefox. Firefox works better overall but I can only view videos on IE.

Thank you. It's definitely an A+ for effort if I do say so myself.

You're welcome. And I agree.

I was 12 thru 15 during SMG years but I had seen most of this. I got my first VCR in 1993 and I had Erica/Kendall's storyline, Tad/Dixie (I hardly can remember liking Tad/Dixie now), Marty's rape storyline on tape. I recorded DAYS over most of that :( Bad decision pile.

I'm glad somebody is putting up all the videos because all I had is memories and those memories are now almost 20 years old so they're fading.

Did they put up the episode where Erica tackles Dimitri and bitch slaps Kendall following this or was it before this?

I felt bad for Kendall even during this. She'd overhear crappy stuff Erica would say and would over-react just a lil. Maybe more than a lil. I also felt bad for Erica, because Kendall would so often over-react - plus the whole rape story. Kendall only became one dimensional with the evul after they stopped letting SMG and SL have scenes together.

Years before we knew what an "Alicia Minshew" was, I threw out the idea that Wendy Moniz would make for a great Kendall, and in subsequent years, others have shared that sentiment. AMC 2.0 needs Kane representation, and if Shaka SuLu, AM, and Rebecca Budig don't sign up, I think Wendy's Kendall would be a great addition.

Wendy is good at nasty bitch, but nothing else.

I thought her Dinah had some nice layers. When Roger was driving her crazy, she revealed an ingenue-like vulnerability. And she was always an ace at family stuff with Ross, Vanessa, and Henry.

That side of Dinah...drove me from watching GL, so we'll have to agree to disagree ph34r.png

Shaka SuLu, lol.

I think I'd accept a recast of Kendall as long as the writing is good because I've liked the character for so long through both good and bad writing. I'd liike AM back with McTavish-Kendall writing but if it can't be.

Sigh.

Erica mind-bleeping Kendall in 1994 (Damn, Erica! Cruelty)...

Erica mind-bleeping Kendall in 2004 (I actually thought this was more cruel than the one above. Her mind-bleeping her into believing she's most likely still the same sociopath she said she was all that time ago)...

+ some of this Kendall getting her jabs in...

I really love how long this went on for counting the off years it's a long time. Erica mind-bleeped Kendall a lot and only in a long-term serial format do you get to see it from "teenage" conception to adult fruition. AMC really stayed loyal to "make them wait" on this and it works with non-romantic relationships a lot better. These particular scenes show why I rarely thought the story-telling and acting was one-dimensional and why I rarely didn't feel for each (E/K) character. I also liked that Kendall evolved a bit more that counterparts like Sami and Carly (I'm not counting stuck in supercouple heck Kendall 2008-2011).

Alicia Minshew was good at first, but she never grew into much of an actor. She was just irritating by the end. I'd love them to recast Kendall with a name actress who along with either Bianca can keep the Kane's going while Susan Lucci is busy. I know many are worried about AMC's cast, but I think it's perfect so far. The actors they *do* have are heavy hitters and most of them are versatile and more "stars" than just soap actors IMO. I'd add Kendall (recast), Bianca, Tad and Dixie and cast several new characters and call it a day. For Bianca they could have Marissa around, but I'd consider dumping her so they don't have to worry with Krystal.

IF they can get Susan Lucci, great (and add a love interest and possible rivals for her), otherwise I think the show is almost where it needs to be.

I thought Alicia was good to very good (sometimes) during the McTavish period, from what I've seen in Youtube catching up, and what I remember. I think after McTavish left, a lot of Kendall went with her.

I don't care about name actresses so much as someone who can act. Most name actresses are based on hype and good timing, more than talent (see: MCE)

I think casting a name actor is fine as long as it isn't stunt casting. Stunt casting I'd say is casting Maura West as Diane on Y&R (a character 20 years older) and casting a name actor would be having Sarah Brown as Madison or even Laura Wright as Carly on GH. From a casting stand point those choices make sense and didn't damage the show. I would say a character like Kendall would need a name, since she's likely to be prominent and that would help promote the show.
