HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

  • Member

WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

Because not unlike last time, I get the impression that they are scrambling and figuring a lot of crap out as they go. I'm not defending them, I just feel that this is why we're not hearing all that much. But also look at it like any other new show on the horizon, there isn't always a plethora of information released to the public beyond blurbs in entertainment magazines. They're still building their creative team, still building their cast, they have taped NOTHING, what can you say when you don't have anything to say? Hopefully they're just busy busting their asses.

That's what I thought last time - that they were hard at work. In reality, it turned out later that they were trying to use the leaks as a sort of TMZ-esque bully pulpit/Wurlitzer, gambling that if they projected enough of an image of having it all together - like Bridget Dobson telling the story about the Hursleys borrowing somebody's luxury car to park outside their place - that the money and deals they already claimed to have would follow when people bought the faked funk. It was a low class hustle, but also typical Hollywood. And that hustle is as old as the hills and might still get you somewhere in Hollywood, but it didn't actually come together to gather the nuts and bolts of a serialized, regular soap opera.

I hope they've changed and that they are really working this time. But, we'll see.

I just redid my picture. Who Likes this semi-full one better

I think you look great, I hate your sig...

I think it was more because the soap press adored OLTL - not so much with ATWT or GL. Frankly I don't think anything in OLTL's last year was better than anything in ATWT or GL's last year, aside from one or two standalone episodes.

I kinda agree but I think it did have some momentum--ATWT and poor GL in particular, didn't.

Josh Kelly actually looks REAL in that picture, not some waxed up plastic man

+1 I like him far more in his candids than I have when they show him on OLTL. Seriously how many tubs of this did they have on the set of OLTL? (and yes, for all of you who wonder, I keep two--one on each side of my bed)

Gee, thanks for telling us! I might as well everyone about the dirty little stuff I have in my bedroom!

Well, going back on the Bus in a few moments then I will go on the Train and then another bus then I will be back at the home and talk a little bit more about Soaps!

Should I hold my breath? (Does it really take so long to get to school in the US?)

The problem with that is that they rarely spoke publicly last time either, they simply utilized the trades, soap blogs and cracked out columnists to spread their talking points and whisper campaign. They thought that would do the work for them as opposed to actual, realistic negotiations.

Exactly! THey should be all over this like white on rice. THEY should be announcing casting and whatnot, trying to rebuild the faith that was lost. If they want to start filming soon they need to open their computers and get to posting something

This is nothing against you, Scotty, but I love how people are asking the guy who is doing that book (which I can't wait to read) for details on every casting call...

No thanks.

Since I don't have a car nor do I have a drivers license I have no choice. It takes me from 3:25 to 4:45 to get home but if I had a car it would take less than 20 minutes. However, I do like going on the train!
