I'm one of those people who didn't know who the hell Patti LuPone was before that show. I'm glad that there are Broadway stars who continue to get TV careers which was sort of the norm back in the day. Sara Ramirez and Andrew Rannells being more recent examples.

I rewatched all of the Torkelsons, Blossom and Mr Belvedere a few years ago - and let me tell you, every single episode is a special episode.

Webster also was basically a series of very special episodes.

Same here about not knowing Patti Lupone before LGO, though I'll do you one better and say that I didn't know that she was a Broadway legend until well after that show ended.

The last time I saw him, and I'm talking over 15 years ago, he was trying to become a country singer. He was on E! and they were showing him in the studio serenading two little girls, one of them was the girl who played Krissy, the youngest kid on Growing Pains. If you could see the look on those girls' faces while he was singing to them. IIRC, Krissy had her arms folded and was popping gum, staring at him like, "Is this really happening right now?"

There was also an episode of Coach where a former player of Hayden's was diagnosed with cancer, because he had used steroids. I think I'm remembering that right. It's from season 5, and it's probably the most serious episode of an otherwise VERY light-hearted show (overall, that is). I've always felt it was somewhat out of place.

Once again, Linda Marsh and Margie Peters amazed me by writing a script that felt authentic in terms of how the girls reacted to the news, as well as the fact that the story wasn't all tied up in a neat bow, as most of the Embassy-produced shows tended to be.
