Always nice to see them together again. The Doctor and Tegan had a great twofer together in the wraparound segments for the Tales of the TARDIS reshowing of Earthshock as well, talking about their time together - I think that's on YT. And what a hoot to see Turlough.

Sorry to hear of her passing.

I meant to comment a few weeks ago after the announcement of a Christmas special in 2026 and new season in 2027 without any further involvement from Disney.

It feels like such a long time off, but I do feel the show needs to restart on a clean slate (and without RTD even though he’s writing next year’s special). I wasn’t expecting the Gatwa/RTD 2.0 era to turn into a colossal mess, but here we are.

I was very wary of RTD returning, and unfortunately those reasons were proven more valid than I had expected. I still want to try to watch some of that run but I haven't felt up to it. I heard the spinoff show is much better, but probably too late.

Literally just saw Billie Piper in a regeneration sequence and my answer is is wasn’t Disney ruining this show, and yet Disney can’t be blamed for pre-burnout Moffat material?

The BBC is beyond saving in all ways (I sincerely hope Trump finds a way to bankrupt these assholes only because they refuse to report on migrant crime), so I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re tanking this show purposely.

Thanks @Vee good to hear his thoughts; feels especially stinging that this was made in a year where they didn't even have a Christmas special.
