Mitchell was put on recurring by MARIA ARENA BELL. There is no indication she'll be sticking around long term or have a major role. It's also possible her recurring status won't be honored with the new regime. The press just not picked up she's on recurring, but the credits have shown this for months. And Branco didn't mention Rylan by name, but he specifically said they were unhappy with the younger set, which she is a part of.

He was very spot on in this case and even said Sony was trying to throw MAB out months before it happened.

Honestly, NB is right a lot more than he is wrong. He is just so polarizing people refuse to see it/give him credit. He clearly has a good source at Sony.

Agreed. He tends to be more right than wrong when it comes to Y&R. He has a couple of sources over there, I'm sure: a couple in the cast (*cough*MuhneyGoddardLeBlanc*cough*) and some behind-the-scenes peeps, too. I also think Daytime Confidential does a good job when it comes to confirming news and I think Jamey Giddens has a source or two on the Y&R set, too. Y&R is full of blabbermouths!

I am sorry to see Marcy go. Honestly, I didn't see the age on the girl's face and thought she was perfect as Abby. I loved watching her!Of all the "young cast" to be booted off the show, she (and Carmine. Girl needs some eye candy) were the last I would have axed. Blake Hood, Jessica Heap, Greg Rikaart and Liz Hendricksen OTOH... Especially the latter two. I cannot stomach that chemistry-free, smug pair.

Y&R needs a cast overhaul, and not just in the young set. Amelia Heinle remains the most epic fail in terms of recasts. Get Heather Tom back, get Sarah Joy Brown in, whatever, but Hairchewer hasn't been working for almost a decade.

Watching Daytime Confidential lose their [!@#$%^&*] minds about the dismissal of Marcy Rylan - the epitome of our hope for the future, apparently, I must have just missed the memo - is fun. Really, she's hardly worth all that. I'm sorry, but she's not. She was an appealing young actress on the wasteland that was latter-day GL and she failed to really distinguish herself on Y&R at all in a terrible time. It's like making a fuss over Daniel "I Am Become Death" Cosgrove, three-time soap killer.

YES! Nelson also flipped out as did some fans on twitter. I was like.. wtf? I like her a lot but seriously, this aint the worst news ever.

I never thought she looked too old, I just couldn't stand her as Abby and I'm glad she's out.

I do think it sucks to have all Abbott women gone. Yeah Abby is more of a Newman but still. They should've gotten rid of Eden/JH cause atleast MR has personality and a pulse despite Abby being a fail. I never got the point of bringing Eden back and who wants to see Kyle and NuNoah fighting over her? That's a fail already.

I was thinking how about Jen Lilley as the new Abby. She is a bit younger and IMO would fit the role really well. JFP is making some moves. IMO Rylan never really struck much at Y&R

I do like Jen Lilley and I think she looks more like Eileen Davidson's daughter than Marcy Rylan ever did.

This is very exciting LOL. I will say, it sickens me how shocked people are about Rylan's exit. She's TERRIBLE! Also, it should be noted that the people Nelson Branco said would be going are the ones exiting. Going forward we need to expect Stephen Nichols and he mentioned them being unhappy with the younger set. Jessica Heap, Michael Grazeidai, Greg Rikaart, Liz Hendrickson & Jennifer Landon ALL need to be worried. All of them won't go, but I'd say at least two of them will probably be cut, maybe more.

Yep Branco was spot on. Granted her said these people would be getting pink slips two months ago but better late than never.

Well, it's a clear trend - Francis, Morgan, and Rylan were all refugees from other soaps.
