Exactly.

Yes, there are racists in this world. But that doesn't mean that *every* person is racist. Sometimes things have *nothing* to do with race, and really are just about the scene. It's sad that we live in a world where almost everything is perceived as something it's not, simply because every action has to be grouped together.

I wasn't aware that she did that. Even if she didn't clear it with production, it still does not indicate racism. Inappropriate behavior? Yes. Egotism? Probably. Racism? That's a huge stretch.

The trolling is getting comical now.

And it's funny that for all "concrete evidence" of racism certain fans need all of the sudden they had NOTHING to say when Davetta was treated horribly then fired, Kristoff was almost fired or Tonya & Veronica were treated like extras after years of employment.

Of course not.

America is totally post-racial.

We even have a Black President who never has to deal with...oh wait. Nevermind.

She also said both Tonya & Veronica wanted to stop using wigs but production forced them to keep wearing them.

And Kristoff was almost fired for doing what every other actor on his show (that isn't Black) does regularly.

No.

But it's funny how nobody has anything but good things about Greg Rikaart for publicly SLAMMING an actor on another soap.

I wasn't around SON when Davetta was fired, but I was under the impression that she was let go so that CK could come back. I don't see racism in that. CK originated the role and despite the opinions here, is a fan favorite. I didn't know Kristoff was almost fired, and again I wasn't around when Tonya and Veronica were dropped.

But that has nothing to do with this argument. Your claims are that the brass at Y&R are racist. Michelle Stafford is who we're talking about, and she had no say in getting Kristoff, Tonya, Veronica, or Davetta's fired. No actor has that much clout.

As for America being post-racial: Of course there is still racism in this country. But there are also a lot of people who want to call actions racist that were done with no intention of being racist.

She has a diva reputation, but has never gone out of her way to repeat herself over and over for 5 years. I don't think VR is crazy, but she really doesn't know how to present an issue in a light that makes her look good. The underlying, and serious issue, of racism backstage gets overshadowed by the "crazy" manor in which she presents it.

The reality is if Vicki never returns she & the character she helped create are still important enough to the show years after the fact & they still haven't been able to replace her.

She & her legacy (much like Ellen Holly) stand on their own.
