That was probably the best kept return since ATWT's "Hello Barbara" James return.

AWESOME! The whole episode was alluding to it being Alan. But, whoa! It's Duke!

I think this all ties into Jerry still. Duke knew Jerry. Knew he was going to poison the water/or do something equally as bad. So, he kidnapped Robin and faked her death to get her out of PC.
