Am I the only one that is a fan of JFP and happy she is joing Y&R? I loved her work on Santa Barbara and I think she will be brilliant on this show. I also liked Josh Griffith when he was at Y&R before so I think this is good news and something to celebrate.

She's a great producer, and I look forward to Robin Christopher joining the show (you know she well). I'm just worried for the women over 40. All of my favorite characters are in that age range, and we know Jill hates them.

The assumption that Jill will get rid of everyone over 40 isn't totally sound. Jill was likely given a mandate to push the youth demos at most of her soaps, but that wasn't always the case.

I mean, look at her Guiding Light - Micahel Zaslow, Maureen Garrett, Peter Simon, Maeve Kinead, Jordan Clarke, Jerry verDorn, etc were always front-burner. She didn't always give them the best stories, particularly post-Curlee, but they were always featured.

I didn't see much of her GL, so you're probably right. I just can't get over what she did to GH, and I don't want to see that at Y&R.

I worry mostly for the minorities mostly. What will become of Neil, Harmony & Devon? Will they go back to their dungeon? Now I realize MAB isn't great, but at least they're regularly featured. Then what will happen with Lauren, Christine, Nina, Paul and Heather? Not to mention my dear Jill. Y&R could look radically different come September.

That was then though.

Vets are expensive & Y&R has way too many to keep them all (let alone use them properly).

I just know she kills beloved characters who are integral parts of the show: Frankie Frame, Maureen Bauer, Alan Quartermaine. Who do you think JFP will kill off on Y&R? Jill? Kay? Victor? Nikki?

That would be nice. I love Tricia. I think she's probably the best actress on Y&R. Or, at least one of the best.

I wonder if we'll ever see Beth Maitland again.
