I think Kin was dissatisfied at GH in as much as Scotty had been pushed aside for Luke/Laura and the writing was doing him no favors as Scotty was now seen as an obstacle to their romance. So with his contract up he was offered big $$$ to move to Texas, which you can't blame him for. In addition to the money, I recall he was promised that Jeb would be a more dynamic character than Scotty. The money came through but not the story, so don't blame him for being slightly bitter. -

First award is presented by DAYS Eileen Davidson & Drake Hogestyn, Best Supporting Actress nominees are AMC Eva Larue, GH Vanessa Marcil, GH Jackie Zeman, Y&R Victoria Rowell & Y&R Michelle Stafford who takes home the gold, her 1st win & 1st acceptance speech where she graciously included all of the other nominees with her & shouted out Bill Bell who was shown in the audience. Next, DAYS Mary Beth Evans & Stephen Nichols present Best Supporting Actor nominees GH Maurice Benard, GH Stuart Damon, GH Brad Maule, B&B Ian Buchanan, Y&R Scott Reeves & Y&R Aaron Lustig with Buchanan winning for his portrayal of James Warwick. His 1st win, he thanked Bradley Bell & then thanked Bill Bell Sr & Lee Philip Bell for having Bradley! Next AW Linda Dano, Montel Williams & Alex Trebek introduce the Broadway cast of RENT singing "Seasons of Love" while soap scenes are put up on the big screen. Next AMC Michael E. Knight, Marcy Walker & Michael Lowry intoduce a pre-produced segment where Reba McIntyre talks about her whole family watching AMC & the AMC show off segment plays. Regis introduces GH/PC Kin Shriner, Lynn Herring & Jon Lindstrom who present the nominees for Best Younger Actor GH Steve Burton, GH Jonathan Jackson, GL Kevin Mambo, Y&R Shemar Moore & Y&R Josh Morrow, when GL Kevin Mambo won the Emmy, his 2nd consecutive win. Regis & Lucci introduce GH Ingo Rademacher & Tyler Christopher who presented Best Younger Actress with nominees GH Sarah Joy Brown, Y&R Sharon Case, DAYS Christie Clark, GH Kimberly McCullough & Y&R Heather Tom, when GH Sarah Joy Brown won, her 1st time. AW Jensen Buchanan, Tom Eplin & Robert Kelker-Kelly presented something I have edited out. Rosie O'Donald & Elmo presented the DAYS show off segment. And, Elmo pulled a fast one on Rosie, about Oscar!!! Regis introduced from AMC John Callahan & Eva Larue who presented for the Best Writing with nominees AMC, DAYS, GH & Y&R & it happened, a tie! So unusual & the tie was between AMC & Y&R so both of Irna's proteges gave an acceptance speech: Agnes Nixon for AMC & Bill Bell of course, for Y&R. AMC 4th win, 15 writers on their team. Y&R their 4th win with 10 writers on their team. The tie made it exciting. Oprah Winfrey presented something I've edited out. And then she threw it to the GH show off segment. Y&R Kristoff St. John, Victoria Rowell & Shemar Moore, presented Directing! The nominees GH, DAYS, AMC & Y&R & Y&R won it, their 6th win, Heather Hill accepting & she shouted out one of them who had passed this year. Sorry I could not catch his name. Regis introduces Larry Haines who presents a special segment, GL 60th anniversary with a tribute to Irna Phillips. NATAS execs ATWT Jon Hensley with Martha Bryne content not shown Lucci introduces Robin Strasser & Roger Howarth both from OLTL & they present Best Actor with the nominees Y&R Peter Bergman, Y&R Eric Braeden, AMC David Canary, GL Justin Deas & GH Tony Geary where GL Justin Deas won & of course he wasn't there. Regis introduced the star of THIS show, Aretha Franklin who talked about how much she loves Y&R & specially Victor & the way he presents himself to a woman. (If Aretha says this, it must be true.) Then she threw it to the Y&R show off segment. Regis introduced Watros, Newman & Zimmer & they presented Best Actress with the nominees AW Jensen Buchanan, GH Genie Francis, AMC Susan Lucci & Y&R Jess Walton, who proceeded to win it. 1st time. Erica Slezak made the presentation of Best Show with nominees AMC, DAYS, GH & Y&R. And getting their 5th win GH won the day. EP Wendy Riche accepting. -
A random thought - June is related to Hayley AND Tyrell and Samantha. Hayley and June are sisters separated when young. Years later June's children Ty and Sam end up being adopted into the Dupree family, coincidentally giving Hayley a further link to that family. -

I like Nicole the most, because she's the only normal person, even if she slides into psych-analyzing speak. I like Anita--but I suspect that's more about my attachment to Tamara Tunie. I'm on the fence about Dani--but I don't see her as the underdog vs. Nicole. Dani had her a fabulous life. Nicole might not have lived in her sister's shadow, but it seems like Dani gets the attention in the family. -
I definitely wouldn't mind seeing him again. I understand. BUT...a start. -

Cody could have been Derek. He shows a lot more emotion in the scenes he gets than Gavin ever has. -
Yeah, but... It always seems hypocritical when actors complain after the fact about a role that they clearly took for the fame and the paycheck. Kin Shriner, left General Hospital at its peak for NBC’s Texas, chasing bigger money and visibility. The writing was not comparable between the two shows, but let’s not pretend that was the draw. Off-screen, he was young, rich, and living it up in disco-era Manhattan. If the craft really mattered, he wouldn’t have bolted the moment the money got better. -
Yes, the Dante hate for Gio should have been going on for months or years. This insta hate is just lazy writing.
