They wanted to do a crossover storyline like in the comics and the Invasion story was one of them. It's a shame that Supergirl's mid-season finale happened at the time of the crossover and that Lynda Carter didn't end up playing the new President of Earth-1's USA.

I liked that Arrow's 100th happened to be during the crossover it was a great homage to the show that created it all

Yeah, well, I'm glad I didn't know that before watching the mid-season finale. Figures. And again---the only person who remains "dead dead" is Tommy. WTFever.  Cassidy is a weak actress, and whatever they want to do won't make her a better one.

Am I the only one who recognizes the voice of Prometheus, Michael Dorn? Or am I just imagining things?

I had bet that Tyler Ritter's character was Prometheus. Given that Felicity always seems to fall for superheroes, I thought this time she'd fallen for a supervillian, out to use her. So his death was a surprise. The rest---I don't really care as much about. It's way too soon for me to care about Evelyn's betraying Ollie, Curtis' husband leaving him, or Ragman and Wild Dog sitting there like lumps trying to assimilate it all.

I like the idea of someone from Ollie's past coming looking for revenge, but it seems like a cheat for it to be some previously unknown name from the list's son. Of course, knowing this show, that's probably mostly a ruse, and it's really the reporter, list guy's daughter. And I'm kind of over another round of Ollie blaming himself for everything.

As for the alien thing---yeah I knew about the tie to the comics. I just don't care. Aliens don't "fit" Arrow as much as they do Flash or Supergirl. And Arrow is the show I'm most tied to. I had some issue getting to see the episodes, and Arrow is the only one of the four I had any desire to watch.

Yeah, I think I heard something about KC signing a Berlantiverse contract---but I had assumed that meant she'd make occasional appearances across the shows. I hate the thought of being stuck with her again on Arrow. There are so many other recurring characters I'd rather have back, Nyssa, Tatsu, and Amanda Waller immediately come to mind. And isn't Nyssa's sister supposed to be popping up soon?

I'm not sure she'll only stay on "Arrow" tbh. This might be their way of re-introducing her, but she's already appeared several times on The Flash and I could easily see them transplant her to Legends of Tomorrow.

I'm fine with Black Canary. I just don't need her to be Laurel Lance as portrayed by Katie Cassidy. Maybe I'd feel differently if Caity Lotz hadn't outshone her since season two. I never bought into the "turning her into a hero" crap since Sarah's death. I know a lot of comic fans feel differently.

    • Yes, Stacy does this both for early DAYS & early GH. I have written some for her, for DAYS.
    • Hahahha I think sleeping with almost all of your daughters's boyfriends and husbands and getting pregnant... definitely gives Brooke the right to top 1 place. Long live the whore of Beverly hills.

    • CurlyQGrl has DVDs of some episodes, that they can sell, but that doesn't matter. What is helpful: they describe the scenes on the tapes, so you can read that as recaps without ordering anything. Doesn't really give storylines, though, which is what you asked for.  Here's the links anyhow. full menu https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/menu.html GH page https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/gh/menu.html GH 1960s https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/gh/eps/gheps1960s.htm
    • I would argue that Another World never played "everything" for laughs. Even when there were comedic scenes in some storylines there were other storylines that were not intended as comedy.  You give 1988 as the end point, and Mary was on the canvas from August 1986 to February 1989, so she must have overlapped with the despised laughs you are referring to at least half of the time she was there. I honestly can't recall any real comedy that Mary would have been part of. I don't think she was lighthearted about choosing between two husbands, MJ's prostitution, Kathleen's death, or even her son Scott dating her daughter Cheryl.  I would have said that the amount of comedy depended on the head writer and there was more comedy under Richard Culliton and Gary Tomlin in 1984 than subsequent headwriters. I guess there was an outbreak of more comedy when Cecile kidnapped Cass from his wedding in 1986, but in general the Sin Stalker wasn't presented as funny, Mitch's return wasn't funny, John's arrival wasn't funny, Reginald wasn't funny. The tone was serious even if the plots verged on the ludicrous. And maybe that's what you mean -- but I would make a distinction between intentional comedy and storylines I can't take seriously for other reasons.
    • I'm excited for us to get back to a full weeks worth of episodes and also us beginning to move into the episodes filmed once the show premiered. We're already starting to see changes in the lighting and the way certain characters are styled. Of course we know this week we have our first recast as well. After the big Eva reveal, I hope the show continues to move into a positive direction and that we see them starting to fix some of the things we've all had issues with.
    • It seems like they may have been going in one direction for Andre and then changed their mind. He had this player/bachelor thing going at first where he was messing with Dani, seemed to be feeling Eva, and then somehow smitten by bland Ashley of all people. I feel like Ashley was supposed to be the one that finally made him want to be with someone and settle. The way he talked her up in those earlier episodes was really confusing. The wonderful, amazing nurse Ashley and conveniently she's unattainable because she has a partner, but he can't stop thinking of her and takes these busted pics of her. It was a mess. However, it all seems to have been dropped. I honestly feel like Andre can go. That may be an unpopular opinion but I don't need his breathy final syllable to be content with BTG. It's always like "There's gotta be another wh-ahyy"
    • This is where McLaibey falls apart. It becomes clear that McTavish had not thought past Brent/Marion...so the energy drops and she starts throwing things at the wall (Blakes twins, Lonatrat.)   Fans HATED this funeral. Everyone is mad at everyone else, which is fine, the death of a beloved community figure would give people a reason to come together...(Quint and Nola could come together at least for  a bit to support each other, Nola and VAn could finally admit they kinda, sorta like each other) Its just an example of McTavish's mean writing.   I have a feeling they were going to make Dahlia Frank's kid but they chickened out. Making Tina a prostitute didn't help, they could have been lovers when they were young but felt society pressure to part. Marcus took over David's role (you can't have two young black men at that time...)   Get used to it...this will happen, the same storyline over and over until the end.
    • Does anyone happen to have a recording or any footage of Jennifer’s funeral?
    • It's such a shame that the conflict couldn't be resolved in a mature way between the two actors.. especially since Albee was a bigger asset for the show in terms of character and his popular will they/won't they pairing with Deborah Saxon. One of the things about Edge was that it was just as popular with male viewers as it was with women.  It's one of things I think the show forgot in the final year or two with the deemphasis on the male characters.
