Likes:

- Putting Revolution, Go On and New Normal after The Voice

Dislikes:

- Community on Friday (oh well, at least it's coming back, so I'm grateful for that)

- No 1600 Penn on the fall schedule (I was looking forward to the show)

- 30 Rock at 8pm (it should be on at 9pm or 9:30pm)

I guess NBC is not going to even try on Thursday at 10pm. LOL

Harry's Law :(

- Greenblatt on canceling Harry’s Law: “It was a difficult decision. Everyone here respects Harry’s Law a lot but we were finding it hard to grow the audience for it. Its audience skewed very old and it is hard to monetize that.”

Old people don't matter.

Is NBC ran by a bunch of morons? Why the hell would you spread out your comedies across 4 days like that and why hell would you seperate your only two multi-cams, Whitney and Guys with Kids? If a few of these comedies fail your schedule is going to look like swiss cheese.

Sad that NBC is giving up on Thursdays at 10PM, a slot they used to dominate with ER.

One smart thing they did was finally bench Biggest Loser.

Reducing TBL to one cycle is smart. It should have been done awhile ago to preserve the show. It seems like its always on. And now, the same will happen to the Voice. Its just too much of a good thing, honestly. This is what kills these reality shows more than anything, IMHO.

Community on a friday? interesting. I can see it doing fine because it is a genre show, it has that scifi kind of cult following to it. really tho, the pretentious thursday night shows should have been moved to tuesday or somewhere and a new comedy block should have been launched, with ads for "the return of must see tv" or something to try and grow, as well launching a new drama after them like they used to do.

You probably already heard this but NBC is saying they're making major changes to The Voice, which is needed, IMO - the show seems to lose all steam after the audition rounds (I'd also get rid of several judges).

Glad for Grimm. I like it. I hope the finale of Awake answers the question of which world is real.

Not surprised that Biggest Loser is "being put on a diet", as one article states. Life support seems more like it. In the last few seasons, they:

-lost Jillian

-had the Anna Kournikova disaster

-had an increasingly surly and weary Bob Harper acting like he patented exercise

-had a bunch of unlikeable contestants this season, including 3 walk-offs

-had a month's worth of shows reduced to 1 hour

-had the finale reduced to 1 hour (with this last bunch of contestants, that was actually a blessing)

TPTB are alienating a lot of viewers with their increasing showing of the more negative aspects of the game and of the contestants. I'm wondering if they're purposely trying to kill the show.

They are revamping TBL, ive heard.

What they need to do is.. stop with everything they have been trying. Drop the concepts. Pick interesting contestants with good stories and personalities. Let them work out, diet, struggle. This is what made the show a hit.

Yes I completely agree the people of NBC are idiots! I think they like playing the game,"how low can we go". Whitney and Community on Friday is a death trap! Mad that Law and Order is moving to 9 and I predicting all their new shows will fail and be canceled. Nothing except LO interests me.

I agree. I wish they would realize that not all reality shows are created equal and even if the same viewers are watching, they watch different shows for different reasons. Watching to see people backstab each other is one thing if that's part of the basic premise of the show. But sometimes people watch for other reasons, like The Amazing Race to see all these different countries, DWTS to see, well, dancing, and TBL to get some info and inspiration seeing people lose weight. The Condas of this world might be entertaining on a show like Survivor but they aren't why people watch TBL and only serve to alienate folks who want something more out of the show than drama and a bunch of whiny, entitled brats. TBL needs to go back to the way they did earlier seasons and stop trying to be something they're not.

    • Not only that, I never realized they had ever shown Tony and Annabelle's kid. I assume those scenes were Bea's swan song. Even though these episodes are now in a period when I had been watching the show regularly, I noticed this viewing a wildly obvious shift in tone from episodes broadcast a few months before. It puzzled me until I noticed Pam Long was no longer listed as head writer, only Jeff Ryder. I gotta say, it's jarring how much certain characters--mostly women--have suddenly changed. It's like a demon took over Claire's body since she gave birth. Reva and Roxy are so manic it's hard to watch them. I think this is when Reva started to really annoy me. I could take her or leave her before.  Don't even get me started on how stupid Alex has become. I don't think DNA tests were easily available quite yet, but that she accepted Simon without thoroughly investigating the story he told her about his mother is unbelievable, even though she is vulnerable because of Lujack's death. Whatever flaws Long had, she did write women as much more complex and believable.
    • The final season had a darkness and sadness surrounding everything and it was painful to get through. There were times I was like "make it make sense". Sign of the times. Hired on the cheap to fill both the good mother role and family conscience role.  Did the writers really think that 25 years later (going by real time) the audience wouldn't notice the dust off of The Sound of Music?
    • Like it's terrible that she will miss the whole thing. I swear folks were saying earlier this year & when she came back for the rape exposure with Johnny that she would be here for his memorial. So who lied? 9 months since Drake left us & days couldn't figure out a way to make sure they got her back? AS couldn't set something up with her hallmark to make sure she was available at Days when John died, his memorial? I feel like someone dropped the ball here. I don't know if it was Days or Ali or both. The one person you make sure you get back for the end of John Black is Ali/Sami and Christie Clark who they did get. They're 2 of the most important relationships of RoJohn, Roman and John. They're the bridge to the past pre/after Roman's death especially Carrie and the present RoJohn, 2 Roman's, The Affair, Jarlena. The legendary complexities of their dynamic father/daughter relationship that drove Days for 30+ years deserves a better ending, one last peanut
    • Leo felt like a real person in the scene, for once. I also don't have the same animosity regarding Gwen and am excited to see how she'll fit in and be written with the new writers, even if her return was a part of RC's plans.
    • JC wrote negatively about ES and brought up the beef w/ MTS. I don't recall her saying anything negative about any other producer or cast member.
    • I’m up to September 4, 1996. Roger paper mache’d and painted a creepy human head of himself, put it in his bed at the loony bin, and escaped! LOL - that was campy. But sadly he got caught and thrown back in. Then he escaped again, and so the merry go round goes. Ok now another mysterious person showed up, without showing his face, to mentor Zachary and help him repair the lighthouse. Is this another angel? His voice sounds like the deeper one that was speaking to Phillip on the docks a month or two ago.  Zachary is becoming a pesky little fly, showing up everywhere and getting into everyone’s business haha. Ugh, my girl Bridget is now getting way too desperate over Hart. Out of nowhere, she’s fallen back in love with him and now she’s working to split up Dinah/Hart, but in a very desperate way. She needs to find her confidence and backbone ASAP. We’re starting to see more of Bill, finally. He’s being a typical teenager, beefing with Matt, now that he learned about his past with Amanda in Malibu. Michelle is being nice to Bill now that J pissed her off. Bill is a lifeguard now and it was very nice/cute of J to pretend like he’s drowning so Bill could rescue him and prove himself for the job. This new J is much better and more likable than Pilgrim’s version. Griffin survived the assassination attempt, but is still in the hospital and someone is framing Vivian as the shooter by putting the gun in her car. Ok. Beth has now decided to officially divorce Phillip since he won’t come home and quit his vendetta against the A. Spaulding in question. Beth being off camera (and me not knowing her) really makes this fall flat unfortunately. When writing Phillip’s return, I wonder if they tried to get the actress back but couldn’t? Rick and Abby are just realizing they both are interested in each other and it’s very sweet. They just had their first picnic date in the park and Rick was very sweet to her. I’m nervous for how Abby will react to Rick being the father of one of Blake’s baby though - she doesn’t handle stress well haha. I do commend O’Leary and Budig for learning and using so much sign language throughout the year with Abby. The Vanessa storyline - what a sucker punch. Be patient, but here are my running thoughts throughout this wild ride, and imagine me saying “Vanessa, what are you doing?” after each episode: Oh noooo. Vanessa just had a secret MRI and oh my gosh, the results aren’t great. How sad this is to hear the news she will end up in a vegetative state within the next few weeks/months for years and not remember her family due to some incurable disease in the brain. This is devastating. Maeve is doing such a great job and I love how Nola is there first to console her. Great scenes between Vanessa and Nola throughout. Now she’s contemplating suicide and Zachary is talking her out of it.  So very sad. Ugh, now she’s starting to go blind and won’t tell Matt anything. This is all so quick! She’s being so stubborn not telling anyone or asking for help. Now she just wrecked her car (twice!), and is stranded unconscious in a ditch, but alas here is Zachary to help again. Now she wants to pretend like she died in the car fire!  Vanessa, what is wrong with you haha. Is she always this bullheaded and not willing to show weakness to her loved ones? Roger happened to stumble across the wreck too and hear Vanessa and Zachary talking, so I’m curious how he’ll use that against her or if he’ll be the one to spill the beans somehow.  Ugh, now her entire family has shown up to the wreck site devastated, agonizing over it and attempting/risking their lives to get into the fiery wreck to save her, all while Vanessa is watching on the sidelines. That’s a bit cruel, Vanessa!  Wait, now Aug 30 and everyone in Springfield is being told she died and they identified the body, which is heartbreaking, but Vanessa is still with Zachary… so did she really die and is an angel now or WTF is going on? Ok now Roger just saw the news in a newspaper and said to himself that Vanessa is actually alive, phew. And now she’s shown up at the airport dressed as a nun while Zachary confronts Roger, who is pretending to be a pilot while evading the loony bin wards/police.  Now Zachary magically convinced Roger to give up his gun and turn himself in, and just as he’s being taken out of the airport, with Dinah and Frank right there, he sees Vanessa amongst a gaggle of nuns, surprising everyone by saying that, but she is able to get on the plane unseen and now everyone thinks Roger is scum and even crazier than before. So Vanessa, what are you doing?? @P.J., I know you’re a huge Vanessa fan, what did you think of this storyline - and others, how did you and the audience feel about this storyline? How did Maeve feel about this storyline?
    • Leslie has become much less like Sheila Carter now. The real Sheila Carter always carried this somewhat threatening and unpredictable vibe about herself, even when she wasn't having one of her meltdowns. Like you knew not to play with her or cross her. NuTed is still a NO for me I'm sorry to say. I can't believe how much in love and invested I was with OG Ted just to feel absolutely nothing for him now.
    • When Eva took the helmet and gloves from Leslie's closet, I don't think Eva's motivation was to protect Leslie. Remember that Leslie warned Eva that if Leslie were found guilty and jailed, then Eva could also be considered guilty as "accessory after the fact", because Eva kept her suspicions quiet for a long time and let Leslie get away with it. At this point, I think Eva would be sort of relieved if Leslie were caught, but at the same time, Eva would be terrified that Leslie would testify against her.  So I think Eva's motivation for hiding the helmet was for Eva's own self-preservation. That being said, Eva may have led Leslie to believe that Eva is protecting Leslie.  But after Leslie discovered it was missing and realized that Eva took it, Eva said something to Leslie that indicated that Eva feels that she is now holding some of the cards.
    • I saw that earlieir. RIP to her
    • We don't know whether Maurice Johnson chose to leave, if he was let go, etc. We don't know the circumstances concerning the Ted recast. But it's two very different situations of a recast, so the comparison between the two is actually not as valid as one may think. There are plenty other comparisons that would be more fair. Keith D. Robinson wasn't there on the day after Johnson exited; sure, there was a one-day gap, but it wasn't the next day. And, at that, Johnson was even in the opening credits the day prior to Robinson's debut. Obviously, any recast that has a significant period of time between one actor's exit and another's entrance is going to be different if it's a same-week/next week/next few days replacement.
