Thanks for answering my question. Some of my GH history is spotty. One more question...

The way you guys have described Jason/Carly/Liz/Sonny it sounds really interesting. Did it play out as well as you guys described it?

Compared to what GH has done in the last few years, it was Shakespeare.

I never could imagine one man wanting Carly, let alone two. That created problems for me with that story. In actuality, neither of them wanted Carly. Jason was in it for Michael and that stupid promise he made that he would always take care of Michael that gave Carly ammunition to hold over him ever after. Sonny was in it because he wanted Jason to know what a horrible mistake Carly would have been for Jason. Sonny had sex with her to show Jason how awful she was.

Most of GH's stories pre-2003 when it became all mob were fairly classic soap, in that there were many puzzle pieces and they eventually all fit together.

No. This was a lot of stalling and repetition, as this era of GH was mostly about stalling and stalling. Months and months of Carly pining for Jason and scheming against AJ (with lots of "Carly and AJ are like Alan and Monica" anvils, which didn't work because SJB and Billy Warlock had no chemistry), and arguing with Sonny. Jason and Liz did a lot of talking on the docks about "painting the wind" which used to drive me to rage. This was stalling until GH found another Lucky, as the plans for Nik/Liz fell through when Tyler Christopher quit not long after JJ.

The only part of this I enjoyed was some of the Sonny/Carly interaction, like when he had a panic attack in his penthouse and she had to help him through it. Sonny was already played out even then, but MB was still trying, and he and SJB had good chemistry.

Sonny was in it because he wanted Jason to know what a horrible mistake Carly would have been for Jason. Sonny had sex with her to show Jason how awful she was.

It was also hate sex, as she'd busted Hannah to him, exposing Hannah as a fed. He did want Jason away from her but I don't think he knew Jason was going to catch them (although it's been a long time, I may be wrong).

I should also say that this was the time period where I began to loathe Liz, after liking her during the L&L2 relationship. The dreary art stuff and the perpetual bitchery and smugness with Carly. I just did not like it at all. Only in recent years, as Liz became some type of huge whipping girl, have I grown to tolerate her again.

Did he just get out of bed?

OMG, I love you so much! I immediately said to myself "Take this picture and caption it 'Sorry for the bed head, but I just woke up.'"

And then I scrolled down.

Jesus Christ, I just saw the promo with that fire breathing, hair eating, scenery chewing dragon.

And now you know how I feel about Tea.

As a OLTL fan, I apologize from the bottom of my heart. Stay strong, my friend.

You're right, the Hannah thing was part of it. Sonny hated Carly and he wanted to mess things up for her with Jason. Neither of them had any idea Jason would walk in on them. I believe Sonny intended to tell Jason afterward, not have him catch them.

Although I totally agree that a lot of the writing for that period was insipid and the writing for ingenue Elizabeth was especially insipid, I don't share your issues with Elizabeth because I hated Carly in all of her nostril-flaring splendor. I still think one of the best lines ever written or delivered on GH was when Elizabeth told Carly that Michael was her meal ticket. Sometimes the truth hurts.

Wow, can Jason be anymore awful? Instead of going to be with his wife who was kidnapped and nearly MURDERED, he leaves the hospital with Liz? He had to go to the cemetary with her? He didnt even remember Jake's birthday and could have done this later on his own time. You'd think Sam would be a priority and the first thing he should have done was have her move back in with him. Oh and Liz is a bitch too.

Nope! Sorry... Sam's nobody's victim. She got a pass with the whole Robin thing, but only an idiot would go through what Sam went through with Jason after the Robin thing and say "Hey, guess what? I know my handling Jason and keeping things from him that pertain to his life pisses him off royally -- and we're still on slightly shaky ground -- BUT I'M GONNA DO IT AGAIN!" Sam chose this path. This whole "she was raped, kidnapped and almost murdered" thing doesn't hold water because it still doesn't excuse the choice Sam made willingly and knowingly. She knew that Jason dislikes information being withheld from him and she knew that confiding these things in a law enforcement officer out to take down his boss would be bad... but she did it anyway. Ideally, Jason would understand that Sam meant no malice. However, realistically, the dude told her less than eight weeks ago not to "protect" him by keeping things from him, and she did it anyway. How many times is she allowed to disregard Jason's explicit request before she's held accountable for her CHOICE of actions?

Oh... and Liz stood her ground. Sam started that fight, too. Liz didn't tell Sam anything that was out of line. She said she's not trying to come between Sam and Jason. She said the person Sam needs to be talking to is her husband. She also said that she knows Sam and Jason will get through this. I guess she's a bitch because she didn't put up with Sam's bullshit.

Here it is. Yeah Jason walked in after the sex happened. It was after this he wound up with Liz

I knew it. 1999... No wonder my memory is fuzzy since that was about the time I started watching GH.

Empathize Miss Girl, but there's no need to apologize. I'm certain you weren't one of the fives or tens of twitter fans tweeting FV/RC "BRING TEA TO GH! THAT SHOW NEEDS ANOTHER SHRIEKING SHREW!" However, I know the feeling... As an AMC Fan First, I would be experiencing a huge feeling of embarrassment if Kendall Hart Slater showed up to GH.

That was around the time that she was slapping the bows on the rocking chair for Carly's miscarried baby, I think. It was just nasty stuff and I can't help remembering that everything she said to Carly was said to her by the end of the decade.
