Of course Carly wouldn't say anything. She wants to have sex with Todd, not Michael. For Carly, wanting to have sex will always trump protecting her child.

I thought it was funny that RoHo totally forgot his lines and then he meandered around trying to remember.

Poor Patrick. I'm sure he has no idea which shoe goes on which foot and when he should go to the bathroom without Robin around telling him these things.

Some characters' views of Sonny and Jason have truly been insane and sick. This goes for Carly, Michael, Sam, Elizabeth, Courtney, etc. I don't think they hold themselves (or really more Sonny and Jason) to different standards, the writers don't let them acknowledge what goes on or they have them baselessly justify whatever new murder, attempted or successful, has occurred. I know some people hate the "writing" argument because, obviously, the characters will only ever do what's dictated in writing, but concerning everything that has to do with Sonny and Jason, I really do think it's a writing thing . . . except for Garin Wolf's interim stint and the first month or two of his brief head-writing tenure, no character (unless we're supposed to hate them and not take them seriously) is permitted to hold Sonny and Jason accountable, it just cannot and does not happen. Ever. Or it's "different." LOL.

But I honestly don't see how any of this is different from "One Life to Live's" answer to the Corinthos', the Mannings. Blair and Starr (and Tea) would only hold Todd (RH and TSJ) accountable when it suited them and even then, it was like for five seconds. And Jack was as bad, if not worse than Michael.

As far as I'm concerned Jackass is the equivalent of Eeyore, so I won't argue with you on that one.

However, I will always argue that Todd (and Frodd, to a lesser extent, since he was teetering close to Sonny territory before RH mercifully revised his role) has been held accountable and has suffered the consequences a helluva lot more than Sonny has since the late 90s and since Jasus ever has. The fact that neither Frodd, nor Todd, is liked or admired beyond the confines of their family (and even that is debatable), while 95% of PC kisses Sonny/Jasus' asses pretty much supports that.

To Sam's credit, the new regime has allowed her to question Jasus' being a Mafia hitman for Sonny (even if it did last for two seconds) - something that the previous regime would've never bothered to allow her to do.

Ya, ITA that Todd on OLTL and Sonny/Jason on GH were/are presented differently in the context of the whole show, I was just pointing out in relationship to Michael/Sonny(/Carly), Starr/Todd(/Blair/Tea) aren't that different. "Frodd" (as you call him, lol; we can agree to disagree) was going to steal her baby, kill her boyfriend, etc. and Starr never stayed mad for long. Then Todd killed the man who she thought was her father for nearly a decade and, again, she didn't treat it like a very big deal. But Eli Manning, Ross Rayburn, etc.--she sure thought they were scum, lol. Blair and Tea's relationships with Todd were different from Carly's with Sonny, but as far blindly defending him, it was pretty similar. And Todd rarely holds himself accountable or just doesn't care, like Sonny. I don't know, family unit-wise, I think there's a lot in common. But ya, Todd's role on OLTL was very different from Sonny's on GH.

And Guza let Sam acknowledge Jason is a HITMAN who KILLS people as his CAREER (I can't even HANDLE it! lol) when we were supposed to hate her when Liason were the rooting couple. Case in point, lol. It's as if Guza (and to some extent GW as his tenure progressed and now kinda RC) was actually suggesting the characters pointing this out were wrong. blink.png

After Todd became popular, the opposition to Todd was often tailored in a way where you couldn't help but love him. Todd was always the biggest victim in the room. No one suffered more. Blair hurt him. Peter hurt him. Being Victor's son hurt him. The only times this didn't happen were when he was used to make Tea more popular and when he became haha Todd in Howarth's last few years.

TSJ was just a smirking corpse and the show painted this as hotter than hot. Anyone who ever seriously questioned him had to be in the wrong - even our lip-pursing Mick Jagger impersonator had limited contact with him in the show's last few years.

Guza almost always put in comedy scenes, although most of them were stupid, or in poor taste, similar to iconic Cartini.

    • Elements of it were silly, but it was a small price to pay to get Zas back. I should say there's a difference between in town and out of town returns. It's understandable for Roger to skulk around town in a bad wig and clown suit when he's in Springfield and running the risk of bumping in to people he knows.  Taking us out of town to find someone always has a short shelf life. Then it usually becomes about another character knowing X is alive but determined to keep them out of Springfield. Like Alan discovering Amish Reva. I don't know how long it went on, but it was probably twice as long as necessary.
    • Elizabeth Dennehy complained on the Locher Room about how ridiculous so much of the writing was for Roger's return. She laughed at so much of Roger's antics and how it was hard for her to take them seriously. Probably another reason she was fired as she didn't play the game.
    • Only thing I enjoyed was Abby / Olivia, etc., and the addiction storyline. Otherwise, I could do without the season.
    • Right? Vanessa had a ball gown for every occasion.
    • Roger's return storyline may have been silly but Roger's return was what lead to GL's last golden era.  It was the combination of Roger's return and Robert Calhoun becoming EP that got GL to finally hit it's stride after some really bad years. It will always disappoint me that the ratings during Robert Calhoun's run didn't reflect the quality of the show.
    • He also gave some of the best episodes, like the episodes surrounding Doug's death. The problem with Days was that Ron had a horrible vision from he top. I don't feel the same for MVJ and nothing that has happened in all these months suggests she doesn't have a handle on the show. Now if it becomes an issue I'll acknowledge it, but I'm not seeing it so far.
    • Jean Hackney was awful and that lead to Ben's exit story which sucked. I liked Ben/Val together. Val's love for Ben was that of a grown woman moving on with her life and Ben's love for Val made him willingly decide to raise another man's children as his own.
    • It wasn't just a GL thing, it was an 80s thing. Opulent party scenes on soaps were very big back then. Even in regular episodes where people are just going to dinner they're dressed up like they're going to see royalty.
    • Just started the May 27 episode and first thing I see is that Willow got an ugly haircut since hte last time i watched   I dont have the context for how everthing went down but I know its all Lulu's fault which make her a bish for what she did to Gio
    • I'm pretty sure he was. But point taken. GL really had a thing for masked and costumed balls/parties in the '80's. Everyone looks fabulous, but those poor costume designers.
