GH: Discussion for the Month of March

Well why did they even bother bringing up the Todd/Blair stuff. Not that I really care at this point.

I LOVED how Dante seemed to bve reading the wikipedia storyline profile for McBain. I mean (yes I'm a geek) I freeze framed it and I couldn't imagine any such page for a real person written like that.

They needed her there for Starr, as Todd was not supposed to interact with Starr initially. I think they also needed her to unload all the expository dialogue on viewers, about everything which had happened at the end of and after OLTL. Starr can't recap, since she's supposed to be devastated, and Todd can't talk to himself, or to John.

They also had to have her there to let viewers know that if Todd did move on, it would have nothing to do with him deserting Blair. Blair was written as the one in the wrong, not trusting poor Todd.

KDP has always been such a team player, while Howarth left over and over. I'm sad that her experience with the show ended so bitterly.

Ironically enough she was the one OLTL guest I thought worked well.

It just pisses me off because the Victor reveal left me with some hope that Todd and Blair might end up together at some point down the road, maybe even years in the future. But now? I just feel like they took that little nugget of hope and eradicated it. :( It's going to be even more pointless if John and Todd are really only tossed around at GH's women casually with no real goal to set them up with anyone permanently. At least John/Natalie remain unscathed - for now.

In RC's eyes I think Blair existed solely to prop the "heroes" of OLTL, like the noble rapists, and John. And of course Tea. There's no need for her now because GH has a ton of female characters who can be used for that purpose.

I think the show probably does have definite plans for Sam/John and Todd/Carly.

Natalie was already ruined as a character for John so they may just say the two of them split up, and not even mention more detail. No big loss. I know a lot of people hate Natalie and hate Blair, but for all their faults I'm glad they're free of these two "pairings" which mostly involved bored actors waiting for their paycheck. Hopefully the actresses will find a lot of good work elsewhere.

I find that hilarious. I would be even more annoyed with RC's writing for Blair and her men if she came to GH after a month and was all back on Todd's side.

I'm shocked abc.com actually did such a detailed interview with RC--the way they've cut down their daily GH recaps to about 6 lines made me think they'd justy drop anything online. Still, theinterview just reminds me of RC's for OLTL which I know no longer trust. And as some have commented since when are Anna and Luke old close friends?? Wha? Same goes for the era he seems to have most loved with his description of Heather--she was not (from what I've seen) Luke obsessed until she came back under Guza (and Pratt I think). And I wish they had at least asked about de-emphasizing the mob, but I guess that would just get the usual answer. Still, as I've admitted, while I already see someof the issues I had with RC/FV's OLTL run, I still won't deny how enjoyable the show ha been to watch compared to any period of time I tried to give it a few episodes in a row over the past 3 (or more) years. So that deserves credit even if it's false praise.

GH was such a miserable experience for years that I can see where it might seem better now, but the dialogue is so bad and the pacing is so poor and so many characters are just unlikeable and vacuous - the cheap thrills they expect viewers to get over Maxie and Bensonhurst Sybil is just kind of disturbing. RC seems to market in degradation of women above all else.

His answers make me think he never watched GH, or hasn't since the days when Nurse Diana was the show's main heroine. None of his comments (Heather/Luke, Luke/Anna) or what he's written so far (Robert being a deadbeat, that embarrassingly maudlin and selfish letter Robert dropped off; Anna trying to steal a child five minutes after her daughter's funeral) is anything close to any history of this show before the Guza rewrites.

That's RC's talent - he makes any show into the same rictus grin. I guess if it works, good for him.

agreed. I just really want some damn resolution to the Victor murder story. Im still waiting for an announcement of TSJ and FL signing on for a few episodes this spring sad.png . I would hate for all that to happen off screen with Todd mentioning it in passing

The thought of Todd without Blair is just wrong. A large part of his character was that after everything that went down with Marty, Blair was the only woman he could ever truly be with. I wouldn't mind he and Carly being friends, but otherwise...no. I can't. But then again, I was mainly here for the OLTLers and Robin's funeral/R&A, so I don't know how often I'll be watching now, anyway.

Poor KDP. So loyal for so long and this happens to her. Hopefully she'll have great things ahead of her( and happy birthday to her today! 51 and fabulous smile.png ).

Sigh. First Max & Gabrielle, now Todd & Blair. Evidently I'm not good at liking the couples that wind up together in the end (save Cord/Tina and Bo/Nora).

As for Victor/Tea: for their sake, I want them reunited and able to raise their baby together, but if we never see them on TV again, no skin off my nose (and my ears can now rest peacfully! Yay! OTOH, Tea's freakouts can often be UCG).

And now I'm running for my life...

ETA: A few more GH things:

LOL at Carly's reaction to Connie (minus the hooker/stripper comment--um, Carly? Remember what your bio mom used to do? The one you ACTIVELY SOUGHT OUT because she did the horrible deed of giving you to someone who could actually give you a stable upbringing? Yikes). Sonny's too, the other day. His creeped out faces were hilar.

The "stake in the heart" line from John to Sam was great. Can't say I'm going to stay around much now, but it was nice to see ME and KeMo together again.

Great post. Despite Ron saying he was a GH fan in the 80s, I have yet to see any proof of it. Luke and Anna are not "old friends". They met in 2006. And Heather was never obsessed with Luke until Guza got a hold of her. And I won't even go into the horrific returns of Robert and Holly - unrecognizable. But it seems a lot of the 80s characters need to be thrown under the bus so Luke Spencer can look good. Didn't writers used to be able to write for more than one character? I can see where newer viewers might enjoy RonGH, but this show is not for long time GH fans. sad.png

Gee, DePaiva... What happened to all the: "Everything is so great! Everything is so wonderful! Everything is so fabulous! What a joy! What a thrill! What a pleasure! What a..." crock of shit, maybe?

Oh, please. Let other people tell it, Liz is the only nurse on the planet that has no business being in a hospital, looking at patient charts.
