Melissa Archer played her scenes with a lot of energy. Kelly Monaco is much more low-key. If they try that writing again it will fail, as all John relationships failed with viewers.

Speaking of low-key, I couldn't tell is that was bad acting or if she bored out of her mind (Kelly Monaco)

The most speculation I saw was people thinking she'd hidden Sonny's child away. I probably missed the rest. Either way I don't think the story was organic.

Me too. The beginning of Kate's shifty behavior happened Carly snarled at Kate about not having kids. Then, later, at JaSam's non-wedding reception, when Alexis bashed her for not having kids after encouraging Kristina's whim about maybe going into fashion. Especially after the Alexis incident, she noticeably took it rather hard.

Also, if the previous regime had intended on Kate having some kind of Kate/Connie DID... would they have written a scene on Halloween like THIS:

Kassie is definitely not coming back. She made it very clear on her Facebook she was not asked and seems to have some bad blood going now as a result. Some examples:
