GH: Discussion for the Month of March

Liz is a bitch! She totally used the memory of Jake to manipulate and try to steal Jason from Sam. Grrrrrrr! You just know someone out there is saying that

IA. It was so overt and they could have been subtle with one line. As for your second line, no. Blair still has 2 kids at home to raise. I really dont think she needs to come and sit around for a trial

 at no one really discussing Noah being back. He can go back wherever he was at. LOL

Sam and Eeyore are so boring. Why is he wasting time in PC talking to Sam and offering to drive her home when he could be with Nat and Liam in Llanview? What a forced joke

Wow. The Jason/Liz scenes were amazing!

Liz talk! Really enjoyed the Liz and Jason scenes. I guess she's only been on in bits and pieces lately, but I feel like the writing for her has been much better (not that this would be hard to do by any means).

Out of these OLTL imports, KDP was the only one I cared about, so it's too bad that her days are already done. To me at least.

Fair enough, but if I went out of town for a trial about the death, less than a month back, of my "true love" and daughter, you can bet SOMEONE from my family or even a friend would insist on coming. Especially if I was still 21 or so (I guess Starr's meant to be 22 now as that's what Cole's grave said, though I know ages are confusing--has she even ever had a drink?)

What? I skipped the opening--they didn't use the Night Shift theme?

Kelly Monaco is a firecracker and I just wish they translated some of that earthy humor and fire onscreen -- they are starting to write her with more... interest, it seems. Guza and Garin Wolf really had no use for her other than Jason's echo, and you could tell her character had been foisted upon them by Frons.

Also: the chemistry between her and ME was unmistakably there (and I never saw Port Charles, so...), especially when he showed her a photo of Liam. I like McNostril on GH -- couldn't stand him on OLTL.

Starr -- eh. Still not sold on her inclusion in the show. I guess because Starr/KA annoyed me somewhat on OLTL. She (and her chin) were just so earnest! I'm not one of those viewers who loved the teens over there or all that High School Musical stuff.

Anna is such an awesome character and she fits in seamlessly with the current fabric of the show. Is she staying or is this just a flying visit à la Tristan Rogers? Because she needs to stay. And watching Ian Buchanan on Days... sigh. I would love to see Anna & Duke reunited.

I see Cujo is still the same smug ho. dry.png

I've been liking most of the acting a lot more lately on this show. It's startling because I am starting to like performances from people that I have disliked for years now. Chad Durell gave his best work opposite KDP, Steve Burton seems to be finally feeling something after being in a coma for the better part of seven years, KeMo is emoting something rather then drowsing threw a scene, I've liked most of the vets work (Finola, Tony G) this go around, Jason Thompson's been great, etc. It makes me think that they must have hired a new director or something since Ron's been in house.

Agreed. I felt the same eerily subdued sensual quality I always got from them when they were on PC. It feels very raw and tangible, I'm not sure if it was because Kelly lapsed into playing a form of Livvie threw Sam or if Easton simply brings out her more vulnerable and sensual qualities as an actress. Either way I definitely felt some form of connection and attraction between the two of them. Even when Sam was supposed to be mad at him for going after her husband it still felt quite intimate. It was eerily reminiscent of the Stephen Clay storyline on PC back in 2002 nearly 10 years ago.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
    • I don't, since they've clearly incorporated them into Tomas' storyline, and I happen to like his tattoos, but his jackets not fitting doesn't mean they're trying to cover his tattoos. The clothing overall isn't the issue; it's the fit. And I expect(ed) more from Jeresa Featherstone and her team. Very disappointed. He's the only male, overall, whose costume irritates me.
    • "And OMG, watching the scenes of Roger's return in comparison...the quality in the writing really nosedived. The stupid mask." Very much agreed.  Having Roger hide behind a mask for weeks/months, with it culminating with him swinging in on a vine at Blake/Phillip's wedding....geez.  So juvenile. IMO, Guiding Light never did a good job reintroducing major characters, either from the dead or elsewhere.  Masked balls = awful.  Amish = awful. When Reva was brought back from the dead, she should've just showed up in Springfield as Reva, and informed everyone that she had been gone for years because she felt like it.  She had a four-year fling with some dude who ended up dumping her due to disloyalty. Josh would be pissed and declare that their love is not *always* but *sometimes* and he'd act accordingly.  Her kids would hate her.
    • Agreed. The Emmys next year are gonna be a pretty tough competition and I hope we get a Days sweep lol  Not only does Deidre deserve a nomination for these last few weeks, but I also think Paul Telfer, Raven Bowens, Carson Boatman, Dan Feuerriegel and Alison Sweeney have good chances as well.
    • It’s not about a lack of faith and trust in MVJ, it’s about a a lack of faith and trust in Ron Carlivati, who I think can be very sneaky and manipulative when he wants to be.  And, all that “He’s just a breakdown writer” talk never changed my mind about anything, because at Days, it was “just a breakdown writer” that gave us some of the worst episodes I’ve ever seen.
