Members JAS0N47
Head writer Bill Bell discusses the state of "Days" in a letter to producer Wes Kenney from December 1967: http://www.jason47.com/days/letter1967.html Even 45 years ago, Bill knew how important it was to put the best product out each day, in order to avoid cancellation. Members DRW50
Wow, he's pretty pissed off. Too bad he isn't really sitting on MAB's shoulder today. Who was Elliot?
Members YRBB
That's wonderful! Who would have thought that there were once daytime writers who cared so much? Isn't bullet points headwriting better, after all?

Members Khan
Who says he isn't? He could jump up and down on her chest, but she'd think it was mere indigestion. Papa Bell had a right to be concerned. No, not every show can be perfect, which he acknowledges. However, the more one lets seemingly trivial errors go, the more it fosters a careless attitude among the cast and crew. Before too long, you end up with something like DARK SHADOWS, a show people probably watched more for the mistakes in the production than for anything else. Members Gray Bunny
The Plan to Save DAYS: The 1967 Edition. Interesting read. No wonder Bill Bell made No. 1 shows. So passionate about every last detail. And rightfully so.
Members glatwt
team bell all the way, but i have to wonder why bell hired kenney to produce Y&R after conboy left, if they didn't have the best working relationship at days??

Members soapfan770
Well, things got better after this for Days and it was probably a speed bump in their working relationship. Obviously after the diva antics of Conboy Bell was thoughtful enough of Kenney to bring him in to produce the show--Kenney pretty much executed Bell's writing flawlessly on the screen.
