Lois Smith(OLTL, TD, EON, AW, and so many more) on 9JKL with Linda Lavin (TD, 1963, The Nana--The OC). Yes, Linda Lavin always seems to play the nagging Jewish mother on TV. Yet, she played the part to chilling effect years ago on an episode of L&O: CI. Outside of Alice Hyatt and before her, the volatile Det. Janice Wentworth on Barney Miller, she always does seem to play the same character on TV.
